It's how Hoodie wannabees conduct themselves. Last year around this time I posted the 2010s KC chiefs fiasco. Crazy stuff. Then this tweet reminded me about Mcdaniels I want a Kubiak tree leaf to win the superbowl this year.
Like y bother bending the knee and hiring someone watson want now? Is he the best candidate or is this just pandering to salvage the relationship?
There are a lot of job openings this offseason, and the Texans situation is not exactly at the top of the "best jobs" list. The way it's not Flores is if other teams are interested in him. The situation with the Texans is no better than it was at this point last year, and they ended up with David Culley.
My take EXACTLY! All of these people pinning their hopes for the future on Caserio are deliberately turning a blind eye to the fact that between Caserio and the McNairs sits Easterby. And if push comes to shove and Easterby feels himself threatened by Nick then it'll be Nick who'll get stabbed in the back...just like Culley.
Reading The Ringer article in regards to why/how Flores got fired in Miami leads me to believe he'll come here, even if there are other teams that might seem more attractive, as he was a good working relationship with Caserio and, for whatever it's worth, Easterby. Going to another organization/team to be the head coach where you might have an incompetent owner (Jacksonville) or don't know how your relationship will fare with the GM or soon-to-be GM, this is Flores' job to lose.
Beyond that, they are ignoring the fact that Caserio's first big decision to start his career as GM was to hire ... David Culley.
Everybody keeps assuming Flores wanted Watson but there's no proof. It's just as likely it was the Dolphins GM.
TBH if there was no coach you wanted out there hiring a dude you could just dumpster after one year was probably the best move. Unprofessional, but this is the NFL and there's no time for sentiment and feelings.
In the entirety of the NFL, there wasn't a single good coach out there that he could find? That also speaks to his GM abilities. This is a team without much talent, meaning you don't have to get a coach that needs a particular system or fits with certain players or styles or whatnot - you have a blank slate to work with. You literally could have picked virtually any OC/DC in the entire NFL that you believe has the skills to build a team from scratch. And you could have gotten a 1 year headstart on your rebuild with your new coach and his philosophy. Taking a gap year in the NFL is ludicrous.
This. I don't feel bad for Cully because someone who's been in the game this long and never even been a coordinator shouldn't have been hired in the first place. Since he was and since the organization has said they're in the beginning stages of a rebuild, what's the point of firing him now? Tim Kelly is another story as he shouldn't have been retained once Buttchin was finally canned. But Cully was hired as a patsy and there's no reason to think next season is going to be any different. No top level player is going to sign here and no real coaching prospect should want to be tied to this front office. Would've made more sense to keep Cully for another season. The draft in 2023 will be more stocked and it would be better to have a higher pick next year...as they'd certainly be no better than 4-13 again under him.
Firing culley wouldn't have change next season result. I fully expect us to have similar results as this season. And scarface said easterby had no influence/irrelevant. What can u expect from a BoB bootlicker.
