How about having a career 3pt average of 44%?

Too bad we traded Harden for a bunch of nothingness.

If only our FO watched some college ball now and again...

See the stats they are putting up now, two years later? BOTH of them?

Those are elite role player stats, and that's why I pushed for us to trade for either of them for years.

    But, alas...

Herro has looked far better than KPJr, yet it’s Herro who’s the scrub and KPJr who has the All-Star potential and would’ve gone top 5 in this draft…crazy how that works

at worst Herro is an excellent scorer off the bench that can shoot and playmake a little bit

he would’ve been a tangible piece acquired from the Harden trade, and we still would’ve been bad enough to keep our pick

no I haven’t checked but that post was about those players during that current time, that current season not this season. Also Herro will be a free agent in 23-24. Robinson was a free agent after 2021 and got paid 18 mil a year. How would the finances work for a rebuilding team like the Rockets to put big money into these good role players before even assembling and grooming our draft picks. I have reason to believe this is why they didn’t want Jarrett allen who commanded 20 mil a year. You’d be bottlenecked in these large contracts while having to negotiate new contracts for green, Wood, and Tate after 2022-2023 (2024 for green). And i think you’re over valuing Robinson.

It was very funny to watch rebounding battles between Herro and Yurt7 in Heat-Hawks match. Yurt7 was trying to improve the record (12+ rebounds in 11 consecutive games-tied with Blake Griffin) and Herro was aiming a triple double coming from bench. Few times Herro grabbed Yurt7' rebounds but Yurt was adamant to get at least double digits and didn't let Herro in his tenth rebound. Miami bench didn't like. Yurt7 was substituted.

Herro was 1 reb less for triple double, Yurt7' 12+ rebounds journey ended. Now he should be aiming to pass KAT's 15 games double digits rebounds as a rookie ( needs 3 games to tie and fourth to pass).

Dedmon once said "you have to hit his heads to protect your rebounds" and there was an altercation between Dedmon and Herro. Joyful to watch that kind of competitions between team members. Hope we can see within Rockets roster.

Herro in that infamous 3rd year leap. leading candidate for 6MOY and potentially his first all star appearance already. Yeah there's a ton of Herro haters mighty quiet after calling him a apparent scrub. but don't worry the receipts will be posted

I would prefer Herro to kpj any give day but Miami turns almost every player to a better one. İt is not just the player. Who knows what Herro would become in Houston?

That has been my thought process with Mobely as well. I don't think this coaching staff can maximize anyone's talent. We also don't have enough vets who are invested in helping young players develop on the court.

The idea that we traded Harden for nothing still exists I guess

If Mobley was drafted by Houston, Silus&Co would turn him to "bust of the year", Mobley is given up to 43 minutes playing time. He would be 9th or 11th player in Houston pecking order just waiting Theis-Tate-Brooks-D.House-Nwaba to be substituted. Playing 17-19 minutes a game he would produce 7ppg and 4 rpg.

    Lucky boy Mobley.

To be fair, the debate back then was between Miami and Philly (before the Simmons fallout). I never wanted Simmons and didn't want to deal with Daryl Lowball Morey. The Nets deal was a relative unknown until quite late.

After Herro's slump last season, a lot of people were laughing at those who supported the Miami deal. Herro turns out not as bad as some people made it to be. But I still like what we ended up getting from trading with the Nets.

Can't disagree with Herro's value at all. I've gone on record before this season to say his ceiling is a less athletic, but more play making Ray Allen. I just laugh when people call what we got for Harden nothing.

There is no real way to know if we’d have kept our pick if we did a single thing differently.

I liked Herro’s potential as the third or fourth guy on a good playoff team after I started digging into it, though vastly preferred Simmons then as a singular piece. I even started an OP where I tried to come up with a three team trade to get him and MPJ where everyone told me I was an idiot for wanting those guys. But if he was really all we had to show in terms of assets for the future for Harden it didn’t match where we were at in the rebuild considering we’d probably need to give him a max deal this summer.

I like these Nets picks. Harden looks like the cliff is coming before too long unless he makes some major change to reverse it like CP3 did. Durant is playing 37 mpg at age 33 not far from a major injury. Kyrie is Kyrie.

I would have taken herro, but if folks remember... GMs were weirdly irrational back then. Teams weren't offering fair value for Harden. Question of team fit....etc.

Maybe reverse psychology, but Riley tweeted he didn't want Harden. Again he could be playing mind games, but Nets actually knew Harden's value and gave the picks. Morey probably could have had Harden too if he gave up one of the young players Stone asked for.

My problem with the Harden deal was Dipo as part of the return. We needed to be all in on rebuilding and Dipo didn’t fit. The biggest obscenity was that we didn’t even get anything of value for him. That move cost us a pick or a young prospect. We won’t know the eventual value of all those Brooklyn picks till years from now, but trying to have it both ways with Dipo (remember we offered him a deal) was bad judgement.

if Miami wants to offer us their first round pick this year or next year and expirings for Gordon, let’s get this done already. They’re not gonna give up talent that they need to contend.

Herro also has a much better coach though. That being said Miami are the ones who didnt want to do the trade.

We got four first round picks and 4 swaps. Yet people keep holding onto this idea that that was “nothing”. It’s the maximum picks allowed. Maximum. How often is max “nothing”?

Tyler Herro doesn’t help us get our rebuilding project going. He’s someone that makes us mediocre in hopes that an actual hero joins the team. The picks are chances, these hero dreams were nonsense. No one was coming. Stone saved us from ourselves.
