Any time you eat a BLT…he’ll be there. Any time you scarf down a 6 egg omelette…he’ll be there. Any time you devour a perfectly baked calzone he’ll be right there with you to cheer you on. You see…when gordo leaves it doesn’t mean we won’t see him again because he’ll always be there. In our hearts…or in line at the deli, or the pizzeria, or Coney Island. He’ll always be there for us.
Good post. Especially the quote below. It's so freaking obvious. "KPJ is just not a point guard. It is a travesty that we take a player as good as him at SG/SF and force him into a role he completely sucks at. The rest of his game suffers when he plays point. He can't score, doesn't hit guys when they're cutting, and isn't fit for the position. Our offense flowed because other guys were bringing it up, because our offense was moving, and because KPJ was getting the ball out of his hands quick or letting others bring the ball up. When he's at point, he turns the ball over, dribbles sloppy, and misses open men. When he's not at point, he can have a scorers mentality, which is when he really shines."
Once Sengun is back, KJ and Garry Bird will get easy look after easy look. Glad to see KJ show more confidence in his shot—he has good mechanics for the most part! All of our rookies have been impressive thus far except for Garuba, but I have confidence in him as well!
The biggest difference today is the staggering of minutes between KPJ and Green. Since Silas got an immediate win out of it, there's probably little doubt he'll continue doing it. Christopher was a bit out of control on offense, but overall his defensive activity is good and still is easily the best 2 way rookie we have. Wood and Gordon are at an all-time high value right now, I'm hoping the Rockets are shopping aggressively because the trade deadline is only a month away.
Here's an idea, we just don't play anyone as a PG. Just have EG, Green and KPJ take turns running the point without anyone over dribbling. Run some kinda motion offense without KPJ cosplaying James Harden
He was never that good. If he plays 3 he’s not a spot up shooter. Not off ball player. Needs ball in his hands. Not enough touches to go around. Too erattic. One of the reasons Cavs couldn’t play him excluding the locker room tantrum.
We can do that but EG wont be here forever hopefully he'll be traded next month. The Rockets need a young unselfish point guard who can play decent defense and hit a 3 every now and then. Doesnt have to be a future star.
Winning makes everyone happy. Nice to watch a competitive game, hate to see minus twenties at the second quarter. Greg Pop looks like an outdated third world country dictator. Should go when Duncan retired.
Popp needs 11 wins to move to #1 in Ws all time. Once he gets there I'll expect he'll hang up the clipboard
Reports are saying Rox are holding onto him. Im willing to bet its for leadership and mentorship purposes for the young guards. Prob will trade him next year in his final year.
Silas really can coach when he wants to, then we lose a few in a row and he starts doing dumb **** like running Theis and Wood at the same time again. Going forward, I hope we get Stephen Silas Esquire (thanks @Reeko) more often than we get Nice Guy Steve
Or... he was just giving the guy a breather so he could finish the game strong. That's the kind of thing good coaches have to stay mindful of but fans often overlook because we get caught up in the moment.
