KPj did great scoring but he always played horrible D on his boy Murray. I just hope SIlas and Stone look at this game and realize KPJ isnt a point guard. He's is a starting 3 or 6th man.
Nah, just like with Green, he's just young and streaky. When he's hot, he looks amazing, when he's not....yikes.
When KPJ is hitting shots and focused he is so fun to watch, and it reminds me of why I was on his bandwagon. It’s frustrating when he gets in his own head and plays shitty basketball. Good to see Jalen play pretty good defense and do other things on a night where his shot was putrid. Let’s help get EGo a championship, he deserves one.
I liked that green drive in alot more after he missed those 3s. He needs to get stronger so he can create separation and he needs to develop a mid range game. He is 19, luckily that stuff comes with age.
I can’t fathom how folks can be watching KPJ STRUGGLING trying to run point cvs succeeding when he’s just balling without the burden of thinking how to run a team and run point, and can still be thinking “give him time..” why? I’d like to give him time to get better at his natural positions. SF/SG
What a win! After three straight demoralizing losses, we needed this. My own quick thoughts... I really liked how Silas changed the gameplan. There was an emphasis on aggression, getting the ball out in the break, and forcing the issue. Players weren't playing scared to make mistakes, and it helped us use our athleticism to our advantage. Wood set the tone early, and Gordon was hot all night. Even though the stats don't reflect it, I loved the way Green played. He's not going to shoot that cold every night, and he didn't shoot many bad shots all game. Open looks, drives. That's his game. KPJ is just not a point guard. It is a travesty that we take a player as good as him at SG/SF and force him into a role he completely sucks at. The rest of his game suffers when he plays point. He can't score, doesn't hit guys when they're cutting, and isn't fit for the position. Our offense flowed because other guys were bringing it up, because our offense was moving, and because KPJ was getting the ball out of his hands quick or letting others bring the ball up. When he's at point, he turns the ball over, dribbles sloppy, and misses open men. When he's not at point, he can have a scorers mentality, which is when he really shines. I love the confidence Silas showed in the young guys. KJ and Christopher were in the game late. I LOVED that. All night I thought our guys were taking good shots, even when we missed. KJ missed a few open threes. So what?! He's GOT to shoot those. They're good shots for him. I'm fine with Tate missing a drive to the basket or a turn around scoop shot, because that's his shot. I don't like Tate jacking up contested threes, or Theis shooting ten threes a game. That is when we are at our worst. I thought Matthews had a tough night. He's got to get back in his groove here. I'm going to miss Gordon when he's gone. What a gamer. Overall great win, one that this team sorely needed after being totally dominated multiple games in a row.
