Ok...but why? Just because they mandated it? You've already gotten the 2 shots. Was that only because it was mandated or because it was the right thing to do?

My doctor said it would be a good idea. She hasn't mentioned the booster as of yet. I am pro-vaccine, anti-vaccine mandate.

This was always going to be the endgame. The virus doesn't want to kill. It wants to reproduce. This wave of covid is the grand finale. From here on out, it's just another form of the seasonal flu and we will live with it and (if we're smart and responsible) get yearly vaccinations against its latest iteration.

I think this was well said brother. I got the vaxx, (did not get booster) and exposed to COVID, the anxiety was probably the worse. Symptoms were like a mild respiratory infection and I am now on day 10 recovery with symptoms pretty much gone besides very slight congestion I expect to clear up soon (similar to a mild flu we all have had) I think it has pretty much been a finale now as far as a “pandemic” but it’s now going to be like a flu variation going forward and hopefully similar to a flu in less deaths but unfortunately may not go away. - My only wish is that they could combine a vaccine that does both the flu and future Covid and I think people would be more receptive to that if it was possible

Several companies are looking to do that...having a COVID/Flu hybrid vaccine. Your booster next fall MIGHT be one.

People aren't even receptive to flu shots. Only 50% of the population gets a flu shot.

I've never gotten a flu shot. Never needed it...haven't had the flu in so long I can't remember when I had it last.

What’s so hard about getting a booster? It takes all of five minutes. What’s the big deal. I get my boosters at Kroger. I make an appointment, get the shot, and then buy some groceries and go home. It’s really not an inconvenience at all. If it helps protect you and the people around you, then it seems like the smart thing to do.

I get your point but the Covid Alpha was more deadly, if it's mutating into something that is more contagious and is less deadly then what's the point of the boosters? I'll wait for more data but it seems that Omicron is hitting the vaccinated just as much as the unvaccinated and the mRNA versions aren't able to adjust as quickly as I thought to new variants.

This is the definition of stupid.

If given the choice, you'll take it. That is your personal preference and what you apparently think is your best option.

But if forced to take it, you'll do something you consider less optimal for yourself out of ... I don't know. Spite maybe? Making a political statement?

What kind of logic is that?

There is the possibility you'll get the flu every flu season and if you've had a flu shot, it's been shown to improve your outcomes.

What if you get the flu in 2022 and it puts you in the ICU? Won't you have wished you had gone through the relatively minor inconvenience of getting a flu shot?

How many people are dying in hospitals of covid who wishe they had gotten vaccinated?

No, I will likely take it either way. If mandated, I will take on the gov's schedule. If not mandated, I will take it on my schedule.

It lets people off the hook, whether it's civil servants, experts, or the unvaccinated. More boosters will not end the epidemic. So it's a technological bandaid to a mostly social problem (reaching higher vax rates among the poor/needy/ignorantly selfish, improving testing reporting infrastructure, encouraging better hygeine)

It's treated like a flu booster, but there is less pressure to get the flu shot with the same rationale.

It's not even updated for Omicron. Most brands carry the same formula that are geared towards Delta-minus variants. It's great that it's effective with diminishing returns but it's not a targeted solution like what Donny's cartoon is assuming. More like an APB to the immune system for anything Rona related. You get lucky or you don't.

At this point, I'm fine with letting my immune system deal with Omi and adapting to it's mutations. I could die from it like I could with the flu, but there's a diminishing return for the booster that makes it feel more like a good luck charm than an Omicron Stopper

Everything I’ve heard is that the people most likely to end up in the hospital with the omicron variant are people that are unvaccinated. Yes, people that are fully vaccinated can still get infected. But, the more severe cases are people who have not been vaccinated or have failed to get a booster. You haven’t heard this?

When will it end? 3 Covid shots in less than a year, and now they’re talking about needing a 4th soon. Are we gonna need a 5th in the winter and a 6th the following summer? Omicron is less severe than Delta
