The problem with Wood is that he’s not a 4 though. He is a horrible defensive 5. Unfortunately, that’s what he is, and it is part of the reason why the team defense is so bad. It’s not all on him, this team gets torched no matter who is on the court. They do need to get bigger, but it’s a small ball system, so I’m not sure if it will happen.
Op might as well make a 2nd alternative account to avoid future shaming assuming he only made one alt so far
Simple mistake to have 2 accounts? Surely you need to log out of one to log in on the other? This is one of the weakest excuses I think I've ever heard...
Aside from the alt-account schizophrenia tendencies going on here. I feel obligated to post this useless sarcasm: If we were just a little taller we'd be an automatic contender with this roster of 19 year olds that are allergic to consistency and fundamentals
This is facts. The easiest way for us to drastically improve our D is to have a good rim protector and just funnel everything into the paint. Much easier than trying to get multiple weak perimeter defenders to turn into great ones. And definitely easier than having a 5 who actually switches to smaller guys and creates the mismatch for the opponent without them even needing to work to get one...
Rockets missed the memo that bigs are back in style. They treat their post player liek a red headed step child and let theis and wood let the 3's fly.
If MylesTurner is truly on the market, I would most definitely move this yrs lower draft pick and other parts to get him, along with trying to obtain Cam Reddish. KMJ and Tate are just too small next to Wood
Why quote this one and pretend you didn't see the post about having double accounts? You are not a serious person, quit wasting my time by quoting me.
Sad threads are sad and weird threads are weird bc it’s just so weird and sad as this thread is sad and weird bc alt accounts are sad and weird and weird and sad.
It's not just size. You cannot compete in the modern NBA without at least two 35-45% 3 point shooters starting and 2-3 more off the bench. We have three players in our regular rotation that shoot the three over 35% - Eric Gordon, Garrison Matthews, and DJ Augustin. Jae'sean Tate as an undersized 4 has become awful at 3's - he shoots 29% and is being defended nightly by centers. He has not adjusted and his inability to shoot from range is a huge liability for this offense. He, combined with the total inability to score from KPJ means we're playing 3 on 5 every time we're on offense. Going 3 on 5 means that we're not getting clean shots near the basket. It also means that it's more difficult for our best 3 point shooters to actually get open looks, and also that we cannot get offensive rebounds because two of our non-shooters camp out at the three point line. We were better when KPJ and Green were out because we had Brooks, Matthews, and Gordon in the starting lineup, all stretching the floor for everyone else. KPJ's PG play has also frustrated many other players on the court, which leads to more of them bringing the ball up on their own for the explicit purpose of trying to score. Go a few possessions where you're open and don't get the ball, or watch your PG throw a terrible pass, hesi four or five times and toss up a prayer, and you're liable to get sick of it and lose your patience when the game is slipping away. These guys end up playing upset and frustrated. Tate barreling into the middle. Wood trying to take guys off the dribble. Green trying to out race the defense. It sucks to say it, but we need better players. That's all there is to it.
We've been drafting tweeners since DHoward left... We thought we were starting some kind of innovative trend (position less bball based strictly on skill but not height ) ... The signs were there that this is where we were headed long ago... Now we look stupid
