Silas does not coach good habits..our players never talk to each on defense or go over a mistake, they just point fingers. I was watching the Magic the other day and even their players communicate. Silas is a walking troll face who followed his daddy around for most his "career".

i never ever said he did play in that game

(i sad he went back to him after it was proven its not working and it did happen in the very next game when he broke the spirit of this team by going back to losing ways)

but silas did took sengun out in the bucks game in order not to win...if he just gave him a breather i would understand but he never played him in that game anymore despite him being hot.... unlike the few games before when alpi was benched and played only 5 minutes because thesis was playing well...

see how your pet silas is distorting the truth and using double standards just like you in order to prove your point

oh youre using DUMBALITYCS to prove your point... i see now how you allowed yourself to be duped by this fraud...correlation doesnt mean causation
    [IMG]

i guess thats why silas had to bench alpi to avoid winning the game vs ruling champs?

and why we cant beat bad teams now and teams missing their key players and more than half of their players?
because the streak didnt have to do anything with the strength of the opponents

if you want to win you do whats right and smart not just whats not crazy, what is usual, or what is the standard procedure, because mayority of nba teams that do that sucks because they follow stupid tradition and not what is good for them

there is no rule in nba you have to play rookie big just 18 minutes...its like saying back then in 80s bigs didnt shoot the 3s or michael jordan didnt shoot the 3 so now we gonna imitate michale jordan and we will be champions by not shooting a lot of 3s...

hes your best rookie hell hes nba best rookie, hes your franchise you play him as much as he can take... and he can take more than 18 minutes
actually silas didnt even increased his minutes gradually but just randomly played him more or less minutes

I can't argue against the idea that Sengun is a super rookie that would carry this team if he played more minutes but Silas is choosing to sabotage the team by benching him. Even Sengun himself said his body holding up to the minutes was the issue but I'm guessing you will say Sengun is just being nice and doesn't want to expose the secret tank. I'm sure if Silas gets fired you will stick to this ridiculous story and say Silas wanted out the whole time because he was promised Harden and Russ.

At least we'd have an offense. I don't think he'd come here for less than 100 million a year but I'd take his offense over Silas' trashcan O any day.

Silas does not have pulse of the locker room. It's obvious he's lost them. I'd rather we just move on from him in the off-season than be like that old Bobcats team that had Paul Silas as the head coach and Stephen Silas as the lead assistant and led them to the worst record ever in NBA history. Bobcats kept them for a few more years than they should've and they were the laughing stock of the league during their whole tenure.

What kind of answer is this? The primary reason he sat Green in 4th quarters was to preserve his energy by limiting his minutes to below 30 a game. Same situation with Wood and KPJ. He's contradicting himself. Other teams have had it worst than the Rockets but are actually competing and not getting blown out by 20 every single damn game.

He’s a master of excuses. I still remember earlier in the year seriously used the injury excuse when the only guy out was…

    Danuel freaking House

I’ll never like Silas and hope he gets fired as soon as we’re ready to win.

Silas is dead man walking at this point.

I don’t want to take shots at someone that is widely liked as a good person.

I’ll just say that he will no longer be the head coach when the Rockets make the playoffs.

That’s a bit of a vague statement isn’t it. I can guarantee that we’re not making the playoffs with Silas as a HC, even 10 years from now. So i hope you mean by the time the team is ready to compete.

opportunity is not a lenghty visitor... by the time they are ready to compete a couple of injuries can set them back for years... or nba will be terminated because of pandemic, or chemistry problems happen, or a war happens or adam silver changes the rules and make our best players ineffective....

best thing ever you always compete NOW!
NOW is the only time there is, ever was and will ever be....

we are ready, we have talent, as is visible from flashes shown by our best players when silas decides to play them or a good rotation occurs by chance....

My preference would be to let him go now and let Lucas finish the season. The lack of touches for green and funky rotations, among several other things, are driving me nuts.

Silas will no longer be coaching the Rockets in 18 months. He may get next season with the high pick we get this season, but that’s all he will get unless the team really surprises.

What is sad is that whether Silas survives or not is largely going to depend how the young players develop over the next year and that largely depends on people other than Silas… the front office and the assistants that work with the younger players everyday.

Green and Christopher have improved as the season has progressed but I don’t think the team overall has. No one has really stepped forward as a consistent contributor worthy of 35 minutes. Green has had his moments and Tate has been solid but that’s not enough.

Green, Sengun, and Christopher improve leaps and bounds and we draft a special talent. It's not inconceivable. If those things happens, we will win a lot more games next seasons and Silas might look good after all.

JB Bickerstaff looked like he was in over his head when he took over McHale's job. Now he's doing quite well with an up and coming Cleveland team. A lot of people thought Monty Williams, another well-liked guy, wasn't head coach material. Now his Suns are doing great.

I've always felt that each coach is good for certain kinds of players. A coach who has been working in the NBA for so many years can't be totally clueless (like some people here think Silas is). Silas doesn't seem to be able to steer inexperienced players to play the game the right way. But maybe he can be good with players who have innate feel for the game. Or maybe his temperament is more suitable for being an assistant.

Silas definitely lucked out coaching HOF level talent before he came here. He evidently has no idea on either end of the court. Guess it's easy to blag that you're a genius if Luka, Steph and Bron are the people you're "coaching" (read: taking the credit for when they'd be incredible whoever was coach.)

Defense sucks b/c our big man slacks off on D who is suppose to b the safety net for everybody else. Also silas doesnt seem like the tough one to punish the vets (wood) to set an example.
