Because it is a selected clip from the conference and not the conference in its entirety. I'm not trying to suggest they doctored the words in that portion of the video. But one clip edited from the conference isn't exactly representative of cognitive ability.

that wasn't the claim being made. it's obvious--abundantly obvious--that it was a clip, an unedited clip. The point is that it wasn't selectively edited (i.e. doctored or rearranged) but instead simply captures verbatim the exact words that were said. Also most of the economic numbers are very good. While inflation is a problem we're still seeing a very high stock market, while the jobs report a few days ago wasn't as good as expected the US still added almost 200K jobs for December during a massive Omicron spike. Unemployment is at 3.9% and GDP is still growing at 2.1%. I know in my field and many fields the problem isn't that people can't find jobs but that employers can't hire enough people. While the Right and many on the Left (for not getting BBB, voting reform passed, yet) are painting the Biden presidency as a failure consider what has been done in less than a full year of the Biden Presidency and the current Congress: 1. American Rescue Plan $1.9 COVID Relief Bill. 2. United States Innovation and Competition Act $110 Billion Act to increase technology infrastructure and help to maintain US edge in R&D. 3. INVEST in America Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill. $1.2 trillion in new spending on things such as clean water, transit, resiliency to deal with Climate Change. Those three things alone are major achievements that in scope and scale make the Biden presidency among the most the successful comparable to the LBJ and FDR and far more than what the last President did even though it was infrastructure week every other week. Perhaps even more impressive was that two of those three were passed with significant bipartisan support. The idea that the Biden Presidency has done nothing and is hopelessly partisan isn't supported by the actual record.
