He's starting every game and averaging 30.4 minutes per game..... and the narrative is he's not playing enough?

He's averaging the 2nd most minutes per game and the 2nd most shots per game. Sorry, that narrative simply doesn't fly.

Jalen's been averaging 30 min a game. He's been getting the minutes but he's been inconsistent on offense. I don't really care about the poor defense at this point because we knew that was a weakness for him, but he should be averaging at least 20 points a game by now.

Jalen was the 2nd overall pick in the draft and is 19. He needs minutes no mater what the situation is. I could care less about our record right now the number one focus of this entire season should be the development of green and Sengun followed by Christopher and Garuba. You act like Jalen is constantly ****ing up. They need minutes no matter what and the one area that Silas decides to show that he has a pair shouldn’t be punishing the rookies for rookie mistakes.

We should just play Wall/Nwaba/Gordon/Theis/Wood the whole game because it's best for our future

Green is averaging about 30 minutes per game. One can imagine averaging 35 mpg would make a HUGE difference in his development.

I agree when it comes to Sengun, he's been by far the best rookie on the team and one of the best in the class but he's had to struggle to get playing time.

Agreed it is all about development - and avoiding bad habits by encouraging poor behavior.

Accountability and establishing expectations are key.

And we play tomorrow that game was already lost.

I don't think it's a teaching lesson. Coach is doing what normal coaches do when their team is up by 25 or down 25. But this is not a normal situation. And way too many games where they're being blown out.

LOL, Sengun averages about 17 min per game. It could be a little more than that but he often gets into foul trouble. Also, Sengun said that Silas kept his minutes low to help him transition into the NBA from the Turkish league.

So 17 minutes a game is okay for the best rookie on the team, but 30 isn't enough for Green?

    Okay.

The narrative here isn't about how many minutes he plays per game but that he doesn't play in the 4th in blowouts. So this means he's playing less minutes in those games If we go on to get blown out for the rest of the month do we just not play him in blowouts anymore?

The standard has been that players that need to develop need to play and we are not playing him for full quarters because of this.

And here is the thing too...Sengun also does not play in garbage time. It makes 0 sense.

Superstars do not play when the game is out of reach.

When has Jalen or any of the other rooks displayed poor behavior? A lot of the flaws in this team come down too poor coaching. No clearly defined roles, people playing out of position, the me me attitude, rotations, and countless more. Silas is fostering a losing culture. He needs to be held accountable first. He should be embarrassed by how they handled the KP and wood situation.

I don’t think Jalen the 19 year old number 2 pick has done anything egregious enough to warrant losing developmental minutes that are exactly what seasons like this are made for. He doesn’t have to be on the bench to get your point across.

Why would he pay more in games he helped turn into blowouts?

Why shouldn't more deserving players who will play hard and don't otherwise get many minutes get that time?

Deserving or not they are always going to force fed Green starts and shot attempts... and that's going to lead to a ton of blowouts.... why not let the back of the bench benefit?

If he didn't help prevent the blowout while on the starting lineup, why is it a good idea to keep playing him while getting blown out? It's not productive to keep playing him in garbage time because at that point he's just stat padding and those numbers are meaningless because they aren't in the context of a normal game situation. If you want him to play in the 4th quarter during blowouts, then you should be OK with him coming off the bench.
