Absolutely. I'm a Rockets fan. I've never suggested otherwise.

As a Rockets fan, I see toxic player only fans as the cancer they really are.

    Lesson I'm learning:
If I want to look at season stats in a meaningful way, I have to limit it to games played since we dropped the two big lineups.

There’s just no semblance of a “PG” or offensive flow with KPJ.

it’s not there when he plays well. Or when he plays bad. It’s not there when he plays with Jalen. Or without Jalen. Or with anyone.

I’m not sure how anyone could have watched this much so far and he thinking to themselves “this is working”. Even thinking “this just need more time” is a pure guess at this point. But probabilistically not as likelihood.

the problem seems simple enough I guess. He stylizes his game ala the Harden, Luka’s of the world. But he doesn’t score efficiently like them. As such there’s not as many clear passing opportunities and then when there are he’s not at good at it anyways.

it does make you wonder what his ideal game is for the NBA…?

    There’s 3 level scorers
This guy can’t score at any level
He honestly reminds me of Russell Westbrook except a bad version (gasp)

KPJ is kinda like...a poor man's Jalen Green. A little microwave on offense for a spurt off the bench. I think that's where he'd serve a purpose. He might be the worst point guard I've ever seen and I watched Matt Maloney and Jeremy Lin play for this team.

Unlike Jalen who you can see start to "get it", KPJ like...doesn't. At all. You don't see the strides. He looks exactly the same. Night in and night out.

I don't agree. To me the rockets were playing better basketball when porter and green were out.

Brandon Jennings could score way better than KPJ before his injury

meh…he averaged about 16 ppg on 38% from the field and 50% TS for his career before the injury

KPJr since he’s been in Houston is averaging 15 ppg on 40% shooting and 50% TS

scoring and assist numbers are pretty identical

Seems we will disagree on each other's opinion.

But in the mix of this, let us not forget the pivotal reason why the Rockets won many games. The 7 game streak was sparked by Garrison Matthews solid shooting avg 16 ppg and at 55% FG. Green was out 6 out of the 7 games who was struggling badly offensively with FG%. Matthews helped spread the floor with his 3pt threat and in that stretch (5 games that KPJ played) KPJ had one of his best passing stats avg about 8 apg. Matthews sparked the wins in many ways more than KPJ.

Just trade him and Wood along the way, start Sengun and get real point guard next draft

    @flamingdts

It's not KPjr VS Jalen. It's about what's best for the Houston Rockets.(and KPjr) Two UBER talented guys POSSIBLY forming a GREAT backcourt. They're going to take time to develop, and it will occur differently for each one. Jalen's starting to look like a #2 pick now, what was expected of him.(All on the OFFENSIVE SIDE at this point) But, It's obviously in our best interests to see Kevin succeed too. To reiterate... a #30 pick with top five TALENT... totally radioactive. We grab KPjr (for nothing), because it's a tailor made situation for him, here...there was a plan. COMMITMENTS were made on both sides. A lot's being asked of Kevin, but the Rockets are right there with him. This was a real longshot when they made the deal. The idea of KPjr actually making the successful conversion to PG AND continuing to progress in dealing with the challenges in his life. I'm going to guess at the time of the deal, the odds of it all working out must have been around 40-50-1 or so. It's gotta be down to maybe 5 -1 now? Some of you can't appreciate this, and what it POTENTIALLY means for our team.

You guys are so blinded by your insatiable Jalen love/ irrational KPjr hate, that you don't even know what you're watching anymore.

KPjr set up guys for countless good looks, only to have them blown over and over. Kept his turnovers down and hit half his shots...

    And, he plays D.

Kevin easily played better than any of the starters.

The thing is, sometimes when a pretty decent team loses their best payer, the other guys step up with amazing synergy. Dallas did that tonight...and couldn't miss. KPJr wasn't among the ones getting torched on D. There were plenty of guilty parties on D, but he wasn't one of them.

I am starting to wish for KPJ that maybe they just put him at SF and let him enjoy a more natural role and focus more on his actual strengths. Let him enjoy less pressure and more success. That would be nice for everybody. Playing PG in the NBA is a huge ask for almost any basketball player who hasn't grown up honing that mindset/skillset. Of course we have to put SOMEONE at pg... I feel like maybe they're keeping him at point for now to avoid HAVING to let Wall play?

Worked last night so didn't see the game...

I think you are right, but I do think it is satiable.

If one or both of them have a bad stretch, it will all be relative, and the bandwagoners will eye another target.

You will only have to deal with the Only Fans.

My thing is the front court, I leave the backcourt drama to the others.

I watched most of the games during the win streak and since then, I will tune in, but not stick around, because it is hard to watch. Because of that, its hard for me to judge KPJ because I dont watch the full game. When he was out though during the streak, the ball and players were moving around way more. Everyone was more involved, cutting, and looking for the open man, playing more together

Jennings had 1 season scoring 19.1 ppg and 1 season scoring 17.5 ppg. 35-36 mpg.
