    This is called several things. Dutch Banket, a Dutch Christmas Log, Dutch Letters, Dutch Banketstaaf. My significant other had this as a treat during the Christmas holidays growing up. Her mother immigrated to the States during the 1930’s from the Netherlands and made this every year. It’s a delicious flaky pastry filled with almond paste, among other things.

    Creme Brulee at El Meson. Best Dessert in Houston. Just a touch of Serrano peppers gives it a bite.

    Did this at a dinner party with Cleverley Stone a couple years before she passed. It was her suggestion and it is phenomenal.
