I honestly don't think it was done with malicious intent. The announcers were very positive about us during the game
An informed, more sensitive commentator would have said "Porter pulls up for the shot, skips the drive because he didn't want to get suspended again!"
It would have been incredibly malicious and calculated for this dude to have looked up Kevin Porter Sr.’s criminal history, wait for KPJ to hit a huge shot, and have that comment in his back pocket… ready to go. Malicious and calculated to the point that I don’t believe it was on purpose at all. Once I heard that there was a Kevin Porter that played for Washington back in the day, it makes more sense. The broadcast guy is more guilty of not doing his homework and cross checking to make sure the guy who played for the bullets in the 80’s is NOT KPJ’s dad, rather than being a weirdo and comparing a made shot in a basketball game to said player’s father shooting and killing another human(accidental or not).
either way he ****ed up. Can't be assuming you're former player's son specially if you're the commentator for that team he played on. Not even Bill will be saying dumb **** like that
While it may be small, it’s not nearly as unlikely as you think. Tons of 50yos wifing up chicks in their 30s. Just how it goes
"Oh my Goodness Bill, this is like clubbing dead fathers" - Clyde Drexler "You are so right partner, let them knock the just off of e'm like Robert Tractor Traylor!" - Bill Worrell "He he he." - Clyde Drexler "........." - Matt Bullard <television transmission has ended - cue commercials for Rainforest Cafe and Salt Grass steakhouse>
and an even smaller percent of them are having kids with that 30 something year old they just wifed up
lmao you’re just trying to be mad for no reason. You don’t think Shaq is still fertile? Joe Rogan? Come on
I’d go with dumb and lazy more than cruel, but I guess sometimes you can be so dumb and lazy that you end up being cruel.
I’m literally stating facts. Fathers having kids past the age of 50 is not common and the percent is small, it’s barely 1%. So let’s stop acting like it’s something that happens all the time… Of all the people u know, how many are dad’s having a kid over the age of 50?
I'm as pessimistic about the state of the human species as anyone, but to have a significant number of people think was anything but an accident makes me even more discouraged.
I can't believe we are arguing about men being able to have children at 50 or older. Yes, it's rare, but it can happen. Okay that's ****ing settled, or do you all need to continue beating a dead horse on that topic? Regarding the incident, I doubt the guy was trying to be an ******* in the sense of throwing his career out the window. It's possible to think, oh yeah, Kevin Porter use to play for the Wizards, this must be his boy, and not use your brain to put two and two together at the moment. It's cool that he apologized, but man, you know this man was not trying to be that kind of *******. Maybe I have way too much faith in people, but in this case, he was essentially going to throw out his career out the window which is highly doubtful what he was trying to do.
I'm a Rockets fan and while I knew KPJ's dad was deceased, I had no idea about his manslaughter charge. This is clearly an honest mistake. If not, then maybe Bill Worrell should have been fired too for saying the deceased Tractor Traylor was gathering rust somewhere. Maybe JJ Redick should have been blackballed for accidentally saying chink when referring to Chinese people. We should assume malicious intent at everything.
We live in a very unforgiving society. Some sins deserve to be punished for the rest of eternity, but somethings deserve to be forgiven. We don't have to cancel this dude out over a more than likely mistake.
