This is such BS. I’m 64 and am hoping the best for KPJ and Green. Both should not be immune to criticism as it relates to basketball. All the personal sh*t has no place on the board. How do you know the ages of people making comments on the board. From your comments, I would guess you are about 14.

There was no risk for a steal. That was an easy play to make for any point guard. Literally all he needed to do was take 2 hard dribbles to his right and the help defender who was already sagging way off Green would’ve stepped even further over to deter the drive and JG gets a wide open, spot up 3 pointer. What happened worked, but a wide open catch and shoot 3 is a higher percentage and smarter play is all I’m saying.

Props to KPJ for knocking it down. I’m glad we won.

Don't agree with the broad generalization as not every older poster is doing this. However the vocal minority have been criticizing Green for things like his hair, fashion desires, speech etc. and most of those posters are probably older posters that just assume that "different culture that one isn't accustomed to "= less work ethic.

I’m just sick of all the non-basketball takes on this board in general. Leave people’s age, politics, race, fashion, etc. out of the conversation and this would be a much better place for true Rocket fans.

Some of the boomers here have attacked every facet of Jalen Greens persona as a MAN - even before criticizing his play on the court. You should call that out instead of being grumpy when you get lumped in with them. Im a middle aged man who doesnt get offended by the youth of this country and I dont need to install my own personal belief system into every other post. Trust me I know the age of contributor by his content and overall demeanor of his words - its not that hard. If you didnt disparage Jalen as a MAN - then you're good. Definitely not the case for everyone who's lambasted him at every possible turn.

Im going to gloat. After defending this kid from every conceivable distorted narrative - Im choosing petty. The majority of the narratives came from that segment so thats who I have the biggest problem with - it was NEVER basketball related for them and it will never be.

    Haha. That's true, actually!
@Verbal Christ you are an extremely annoying parrot of woke-ish clichés, always searching for PC-crimes in mundane basketball takes, and for ideological mortal enemies in a basketball forum.
However, you deserve respect for supporting unconditionally our rookies and sticking-up for them through their bad stretches. That deserves respect.
I have zero respect for the JGOFs who hate on our other players and hid when Jalen was playing like the worst player in the league. They know who they are.

I can tell what type of media you consume.

The modern right has turned any form of criticism of their rhetoric into "thought police". Write an article in disagreement of something like a Chappelle skit and get accused of "cancel culture". It's a ingenious tactic by the right that dismisses any form of the most benign criticism as "cancelling" or "woke".

Those terms you use are nothing more than knee jerk meme level empty platitudes that have no real meaning behind them besides just silencing any further nuance in a discussion.

You need to calm down. We are here to discuss about basketball and basketball only. Also if you hate Jalen Green so much, go be a fan of another team. Really don't understand why some posters on this forum get a hard on from trashing on our rookies lol. It's actually pathetic.

So, fans can't be a fan of the team and hate player(s) or coaches of that team?

I mean it depends ... are we hating just to hate or are there actual reasons to hate? Most people are hating for no apparent reason.

It's all about context. Is it rational to call a 19 year old a bust because he has long hair and does things with his fingernails?

I just find it funny that Jalen Green's nails, hair, instagram pictures about fashion seem to trigger some people so much. It's actually hilarious. What does that have to do with you.

This is ridiculous statement! There is so much hate on this board against all of our players - Gordon, Wall, Theis, KPJ, Wood. If that was a criterion: 90% of this board is not Rockets fans.
Some of the JGOFs are some of the most vicious haters. What I am saying, @Verbal Christ has my respect for being unconditional supporter of [most] of our players. (Wall may be the exception). Like I said, his political indoctrination is annoying but he's not a JGOF/PlayaHata

Perhaps one reason is when someone like newage gets old and sees someone like Green with a hot girl while they have to go home and feign interest in whatever porker they have to deal with. Then they lash out at the young wealthy black male and make ridiculous statements like my signature. The guy is a prick and easy to make fun of that’s for sure.

I don't care what Green wears or what he does with his fingernails. Imaging the Bulls rejecting Dennis Rodman in the 90s because he wore a wedding dress, painted his nails, and dyed his hair bright colors. Maybe that stuff doesn't reflect whether you can hoop.

I'm glad Green is super comfortable getting to the rim at this point. He's a threat all around the court, which will hopefully. open up the rest of his offensive game.

I can't talk for others, I am personally not triggered or offended by anything Jalen Green-related.
However, you have to understand: these are public figures, celebrities, their entire life is a matter of scrutiny.
My take has always been that his personality does not match the personality of the franchise players who have led teams to the Finals and to Championships. I am still a sceptic. Either he will have to develop his personally in a different direction, (which is normal given how young he is) or he will be a very different and unique Top Dog. I am obviously rooting for his as long as he is on the Rockets.
