Many other states including all Republican states AFAIK have not and are still not doing this. They must have been fanning covid hysteria for the past 2 years and continuing to do so, right? LOL. Below is not for you. It would have been good to have this granularity of data since day 1 but it wasn't that important until now. It's important to now have it with Omicron given how easily it spreads. The data on the rapid rise of hospitalization cases among Children for example could be very misleading due to pretty much everyone now entering the hospital being covid positive (a new thing with Omicron). We also need this data to understand the shifting impact on the health system - there is now a huge shift of burden from critical care (ICU, non-ICU but with O2) to more standardized care (waiting in the ER). At some point, the hospitals probably should consider if they should STOP some isolation or separation of covid vs non-covid if the stress on standard care is too much to sustain. ps. The smart folks have been telling hospitals to do this for a few weeks now due to Omicron and what they were seeing out of SAfr. They didn't care that much before for good reasons. It's good that some States listen to these folks. Other states should do this also.
Although I don't watch CNN (and didn't watch this tweeted video either), I very much doubt CNN ever said cloth mask stop covid. On the other hand, I'm quite sure people realize Omicron spread much easier, and thus masking wouldn't be anywhere near as effective vs previous variants. Things changes. Conservative needs to stop pretending they can't keep up. N/m, they have an audience to fool.
So just to be clear, if a guest on a network makes a statement, that's the network admitting something? Why would a news network need to admit anything anyway? What happens when CNN has two people on who disagree with each other? I understand you probably only watch FOX and might not be familiar with the concept. Or is this another one of those "I post random things but don't believe anything I post!" situations?
The Mayo Clinic says it has fired 700 workers who refused to receive a covid vaccination, 1% of its 70,000-strong payroll. The company says they can get their jobs back if they get vaxxed. Officials say while it's sad to lose valuable employees, it's essential to keep patients, the workforce, visitors and communities safe. Some media are leaving out the percentage to make the headcount more alarming. Another thing to consider is that workplace vaccine mandates create an incentive for people thinking of leaving the workforce anyway. A silver lining of conservative states' generally awful lawmaking around Covid is forcing employers to cover unemployment benefits when firing people with cause.
stop posting Orange Hair's lie The R&D for a human coronavirus vaccine has been nearly 20 years in the making. SARS was the first attempt, in ~ 2002
Considering Trump has not been President for the vast majority of the time vaccines have been publicly available, he has no idea what he would have done. Sadly, if he was still President, more of his supporters would probably be vaccinated and things would be much better and mandates would not be necessary. But, unfortunately, too many Trump supporters treat getting the vaccine as political and are going to stick it to the liberals and refuse to do so.
How does it threaten their political power when it's mostly red-state voters dying from COVID in the last 8 months? I think someone pointed out that DeSantis only won by 32,000 votes and yet 60,000 Floridians have died from COVID - doesn't look good for Republicans
But how many libs would have refused the vax if trump won? Big names were already starting to say they wouldn't take it before the election.
The "libs" that said that were referring to if Trump told them to and medical professionals didn't agree. The ones quoted said if medical professionals told them to, they would.
I think there’s been a consistent message for close to a year that cloth masks worn properly are better than no masks but at the same time not as effective as N95s or KN95s (which had been in limited supply). As the latter become more available, I would expect more encouragement to use those masks and explain why they are better than cloth masks.
Exactly! Trump is not credible and his word cannot be trusted if not corroborated by others who actually have credibility. The nonsense he pulled after the election was just further evidence of that.
