The Rockets long term do need to move on from Wood and likely Porter Jr. ...... and there is no chance Wood in a Rocket past this deadline. The Rockets will move him and it won't be for spare parts, the Rockets will get something of value for him in either draft picks or another young player. While Wood is a bit of a loser, he does produce (especially when motivated), he is a stretch player and he doesn't make a lot of money - that is what a lot of contenders need. If the Rockets are willing to take back a mediocre to bad contract for Wood, they can get a fair amount of value for him.
"Before Antonio Brown quit, Porter Jr. did" ..somebody seriously paid this man to write that sentence. Anyway, the article reads exactly like a GARM post lol
I can only guess but my somewhat educated guess would be that you can create a following on twitter and at some point turn it into a career of some sorts. There’s quite a lot of examples of Twitter analysts that got into some front offices just through posting quality content on twitter.
Guys take your choice, 1 game suspension or death penalty? There's no in between either we are too soft with one-game suspension or we do the right thing with the death penalty. That way they never come back on the Rockets or in LA with LeBron
He's right about Wood, but wrong about Porter. "Waive him, release him, whatever... There’s an ex-All-Star point guard on the bench rarin’ to go." Yes let's give up on a high-upside kid who made an error in judgment and apologized for it, and let's continue the John Wall experiment. This is exactly the kind of thing Sports Illustrated types can have a hardline stance on to generate clicks, but being a GM or coach in the NBA requires a greater degree of nuanced thinking and more complex decision-making calculus
I have been pretty ambivalent about Silas for the most part. In a couple of seasons where the Rockets needed Ls to pile up he seemed as good as anyone to hold the position. I think he is probably fine, or even good, if he is equipped with a veteran team. But I dont think he has the stomach for a rebuild or the passion to develop a young squad. I think he will certainly last this season and perhaps even next as well. But I am hoping that the Rockets look at Sam Cassell as a guy to lead these young guys. He could bring along former Rockets great turned coach Mario Elie and possibly get Mad Max more involved with the team (unless he is in the booth by then...). As for KPJ and Wood, KPJ stays on a much shorter leash and probably cost himself some serious coin with his outburst. Wood is a goner. I am hoping he nets either a young building block or a top 20 pick.
Both need to be gone. Josh Christopher and DJ Augustine are fine doing KPJ's duties considering their both more efficient and their heads don't rattle when you shake them. We got rid of other malcontents with high upside before. KPJ doesn't even have high upside. I swear if the dude hadn't scored 50 points that one time this wouldn't even be a discussion. Hopefully this is just a temp fix until they find trade destinations for both.
Your comments are fueled with hatred, emotion, and assumption. Inserting race where it does not need to be. Quite sad especially when Sengun has not been the best player on this team, which shows your racial bias. But like KPJ and Wood you can change for the better. Be better my friend.
He's correct. kpj should've been released. If they weren't going to go that far, longer suspensions should've been given. But it doesn't matter because it's just a matter of time before Wood and Kpj do something else.
There is a culture coach at the Texans near the top of the org chart... and that's not going well at all.
Whats supremely funny is that THIS team is being asked to have a "culture reset" when it doesnt even have a clear franchise player on the team, and never won anything of substance even during the Harden era. So what culture really? What standard do these current Rockets need to achieve? Accountability starts at the top and the tone of the complaint should have been aimed at the owner and let the trickle down effect happen from there. To blame the coaches and the players who probably all knew this year was going to be a throwaway is just chasing your tail. I ask again --- What culture do basketball stans require for this team? IMO it will take care of itself once the team starts winning and the young players develop into notable league names. Such a frenzied attack for nothing.
1 game for Wood, and especially KPJr, is a huge joke KPJr should’ve got a 4 game suspension. watch them go an insert KPJr right back into the starting lineup…Houston Rockets don’t have time for consequences I guess
