Agreed, this might be a wake-up call to Wood & Porter to fix their ****, but the rest is up to them. I also think a multi-game suspension might do more damage than good, esp. their trade value.
What an utterly pathetic display of leadership from the Rockets. Wow. 1 whole game huh? KPJ can drive away from Toyota Center anytime he wants with this p***y leadership.
I mean, what will they say publicly about him? I mentioned last week how I’d like to believe Stone knows KPJ and Wood aren’t a part of the future. Get’em straight then ship them right out in the off-season.
I don't know which young player confronted Wood in the locker room. It very well may have been Porter who can be out spoken. I CAN tell you that both Sengun and Tate have spoken out in the past and have no problem voicing their opinions. Both are big discipline type players that don't want to be coddled. The general feeling I have gotten is that the Rockets coaches and some of the players actually like Porter as a person, not so much Wood. Porter seems to want to get better and Wood doesn't think he has a problem.... so there is that. Wood is just a really bad fit.... I somewhat feel bad for Porter because he is expected to improve over night, I wouldn't be surprised if in 5-10 years he is a good person...... just no one has time for that in the NBA. Also the Rockets under Stone, when it comes to disciplining players is a joke.... it is still early, but so far it has been a questionable proposition. The Rockets want a player empowered and player friendly culture.... but that only works when you have leaders like LBJ or Curry.... and even then it has limits.
Patience. We're getting dangerously close. Tilman and McNair must've read from the same ownership for dummies book.
If losing your mind, throwing things, and running away from the arena gets u only 1 game, I wonder how many games it would’ve been if Porter had actually put hands on the coaching staff? Maybe 2?
Green is tight with Lucas so it is possible, but Green usually does what his coaches say and they don't want it to get out. Honestly, my guess is Sengun... he has confronted some of the veterans in the past.
The Rockets insisted on that be included in the story...... yeah for now they are sticking with him because of his overall effort.
Yeah but they could've said nothing at all. Obviously they wouldn't write that they're giving up on him or anything like that. But that sentence was included intentionally, and I thought it was interesting.
lollololo no .... we have a history of this on record and silas would get out of his way not to play him a lot nevertheless
I love Tate and sengun I’ve been saying we need to build around those guys . (Tate in particular given limited sengun sample ) . Green is looking better too. agree with what @Nook about kpj and wood dynamic . Kpj DOES at least seem to have passion for the game . Wood , we just need to get rid of . I know we are “rebuilding” , but this is what can happen when it is known that the front office actually wants to lose . We are sitting 40 million on the bench , Started off the year giving green and kpj more minutes than they earned ... and it bit us in the ass . I love Tate and think he’s our best player and the guy I wanna have lead the team ... but shiiiit , I’d be surprised if he doesn’t ask for a trade .
If he had put hands on Luc.... it wouldn't have ended well for KPJ because Luc doesn't take ****.... and there are a handful of players that likely would have jumped in for Lucas as well.
Nowhere does it say one of these players leaked the information. If it’s just your assumption or conjecture then you should just state that.
Throwing things and losing your mind probably happen more than we know in NBA locker rooms, but leaving the arena in the middle of a game can't be ignored. There's hopefully more to come from this.
From 7-game winning streak to a 7-game losing streak. Constant changes with rotation. Some players get decent minutes one game and the next made to sit out. What KPJ and Wood did is unprofessional but need to rethink what in the world is this organization doing and question if current coaches are good enough to build young talent?
