Some positives about Green. 1. His shot has improved a ton 2. He is getting calls at the rim, and is taking on contact 3. He looks way more comfortable both on and off the ball. Still a lot to learn, but the young man has a very bright future. DD
The taking on contact is huge. Now when Green develops "go-to" spots on the floor from mid-range, as all the great scorers do, man look out.

Going back to his lone G League season, Green has increasingly used change-of-pace maneuvers to generate room inside, where he can finish fluidly from awkward angles. When he’s scoring like he has as of late, it’s obvious why Houston drafted him second. Rookie production often wildly fluctuates, and Green, who turns 20 next month, will undoubtedly experience some more lows this season—especially if Houston general manager Rafael Stone doesn’t clean up the mess. On Saturday, assistant coach John Lucas called out the team at halftime for their effort, singling out Kevin Porter Jr. and Christian Wood. Porter reportedly threw a fit and then left the arena. Wood refused to play in the second half. Incidents like this are why the Cavaliers gave up Porter, and though Wood has turned his career around, he doesn’t have the best track record. More specifically stating that the 1…2 count that Lucas worked with him on forces him to keep the ball up higher when he starts his shooting motion in order to get his release off quicker.
The change to his shot has dramatically helped. Looks and feels much more stable without that dip now.

Green has been excellent offensively last few games. Same player we saw in Summer League but now doing it against legit NBA players. Very encouraging among all the disfunction
To be fair Green's shot was alot less broken than Fultz. I mean it was mostly subtle changes. Fultz needs alot of work.
Love the poise Green's been playing with since his return. He's not just hitting jumpers, he's attacking the defense and being much better about picking the angles and utilizing change of speed. Early in the season he was barreling into defenders, which at best isn't going to get him free throws and at worst will get charges called against him. I'd like to see him flash more playmaking ability, but even he knows that's an area to work on in the future.
