KPJ is not a natural playmaker. I was hoping he was a dollar brand Harden when he looks a little more like dollar brand Westbrook. Russ would pile up garbage assists to pad his stats but they were often forced passes after he had taken the air out of the ball. Harden always let the plays develop and was a master at getting the ball to the right guy often. Russ would force balls at bad times and sometimes the teammates would make it and sometimes they wouldn't. He would do it enough to get his 10 assists per game.

KPJ is kinda similar. He doesn't seem to grasp the game at a high level. He's a little bit like Christian Wood in that he can't really see much past what he's already decided he's going to do. Harden would have Plan A, then Plan B and Plan C. KPJ has Plan A. And that's it.

The good thing with KPJ is that unlike Wood, he actually has some offensive tools to bail him out when he's made a poor decision.

 

Try a Snickers next time.

Don't understand if KPJ isn't fully healthy, why does he always rush back to play? And no minutes restrictions either.

The best thing about KPJ is that we got him for nothing and are paying him very little. I have to be candid. I'm not even sure I see Russ in him. Definitely not yet. Russ, for all his problems, can score at the rim. KPJ struggles to consistently score at the rim. Russ can make a mid-range shot with bad efficiency. KPJ, if it's possible, shoots them at worse efficiency and pump fakes himself out of open looks.

I think a lot of people were mistaken when they played up the win streak with Green injured. The bigger story was how well the team played with KPJ out. How Eric Gordon, an erratic passer with basic ball handling, turned the ball over less than KPJ and initiated consistent offense and scoring better than KPJ.

I get its his first year at PG. But for him to be this far behind 30 games in? I'm ready to call the experiment a failure and spend the next 30 trying Nix out and seeing if we have PG there and seeing if KPJ/Green can workout at the 2 and 3 spot in a starting lineup.
