It seems to have finally clicked for him. He's getting in better and better shape. Certainly belongs on an NBA roster.

 

My issue with his driving was that he wasn’t finishing his attacks. He was hesitant to drive because he seemed either worried about getting blocked or taking a foul but not getting the call. Tonight he put the pedal to the floor, drove with intent and the refs rewarded him. It was nice to see. He also seemed to have a little more confidence tonight possibly because wood was out of the lineup. He was moving without the ball a lot more tonight too.

Next step is demanding the ball a little more. His shot is going his drive us going time to get the ball in his hands more often.

You can call it whatever you want, I see it as progress. He's had plenty of games where he was completely worthless, so I'll take a night when he gets to the line a lot and hits his 3's even if he's still a net negative on the court. I'm hoping by the end of the year he'll improve to where he's a consistently solid one way player. We'll worry about him improving on everything else later.

You are a white flag waving Pole, just emigrating other countries when Lehistan (Poland) is invaded. Even the most famous of those cowards died in Istanbul :Adam Miskiewiczs. Better defend your country rather than defending shameful stats.

 

Crappy game, but a few observations:

• It is a really small sample size and during a blowout, but Nix looks more in control of the ball and a better playmaker than KPJ at the point. And at this stage of the season, that's worrisome.

• I'm in favor of getting Nix more minutes. I think he's earned them and I think the FO is looking to get both him and Queen time on the court.
• If there was any doubt about whether Wood was really on the trade block, these last few games really seem like the FO is determined to move him by the trade deadline. It's not just bringing him off the bench, but resting him for lengthy periods of time during games, etc.
• Not really even a frustration anymore, just a reality of Wood's limitations: his inability to create shots, or to make moves when he gets the ball, is so glaring when he's up against bad players. You expect him to struggle against Giannis, AD, Jokic. But when guys you've never heard of are giving him fits, it's an eye opener. As I've said before, Wood's peak is something closer to John Collins, which is still really good in this league, and not whatever he thinks he is in his mind.
• Tate played awful tonight. A lot of dumb fouls, frustration pouring over all the time. I'm willing to give him some slack because it's not a trend with him.
• Christopher's lack of a three point shot really hurt us tonight. The D was backing off him and daring him to shoot the three at times. Christopher is an athletic player, but he's not fast, which means he doesn't always get the first step on his man. When he can't hit a shot, he's forced to try to get in the lane and because he can't get by defenders with his first step, he ends up pushing off to create space. Unfortunately, refs are calling that on him a lot.
• Christopher also has to get better about not traveling off of a pass. I don't have a count, but it just seems to happen a lot. Someone kicking the ball out to him on the wing, him catching it, making a fake one way and dribbling to go the other, but shuffling his feet along the way. Happens way too much.
• I'd like to see Queen be a little more aggressive in his minutes. He just seems to get passes and almost doesn't think about shooting unless he has to. It's obvious that when he's not playing with nerves, he can score really effectively. He's got a quick first step and a very good shot, just doesn't seem to use it until the 4th during blowouts.
• When did our defense get this bad? It's almost like we can't cover anyone at times. Just embarrassing.
