These last few games, Green has been better.

I know it upsets people around here to say this for some insane reason.

You know your argument's bad when you have to use false heights to prove your point. Things carry a lot more weight when you aren't having to bullshit to skew the perception.

    Heem's listed at 6'4

He's got Steph's frame (before Steph added muscle), if Trae Young was 3 inches taller and got in a tanning bed you'd get Jalen Green. Green may or may not be esqueleto from nacho libre

He's never going to be a Bradley Beal type SG, he's super-duper skinny, his bones look tiny, his actual skull is pretty small relative to his height, he's going to be someone who always gets bullied by bigger guards on D, and someone who has to use his quickness and shot on offense because he isn't going to be able to move people with his body.

Of course he's not going to be like Beal, he's a lot faster and jumps a LOT higher.

Lol. There are posters here who think Josh Christopher is better than Green.

I dont understand what it is about the kid that bothers people so much.

He's a more skilled Zach Lavine when he was 19. Hence why I think his ceiling is a better Zach Lavine

This is a good thread, you should do it every 10 games he has played and compare.

Not saying that isn’t true, but in what way is he more skilled than a rookie Lavine?

    Edit:
    Here is the direct comparison.

the numbers are not far off really. Lavine only averaged 10ppg as a rookie, shooting at 42 percent. His rpg were at 2 and assists at 3. I wouldn't say more skilled, but athletically they are not far off

I would be thrilled if Green turns into Lavine personally. That’s a win

You be the judge. Here are rookie Zach Lavine Highlights. Keep in mind that Zach is an ELITE athlete and does some really special things in these clips. That being said, he is a top tier run and jump athlete, but in comparison to JG, he is more of a glider. JG has that fast twitch, cat like agility to go along with the explosion and will probably end up being a lot more shifty off the dribble than Zach. Plus he is FAST. Threw a Beal rookie video in as well. How you can watch these and not see JG has a little something different is beyond me. It’s all about hard work and development from here on out, but he is gifted.

Are these the results of the Jalen Green experiment?

Couple of early observations - First time I watched rookie footages of Lavine.

    1. Lavine seems to use more force on his shots and overall looks to be bigger and taller.
    Dunks every opportunity he gets.
Lavine was a big Kobe homer too and modeled his game after Bryant. *both picked at 13th.

    2. Beal had one chasedown block, also seems to have more flesh on his bones in his rookie year.
Beal seems to be most skilled among the 3.

    3. Green has the thinnest frame among them but agree with catlike reflexes and quickness.

Both Lavine and Beal seems to have a physical advantage while Green maintains his quickness and explosion.

It is not just frame, his shoulders are narrower and not that wide. It is hard to replace shoulders.

Pretty easy to understand. 1. He's a popular, good looking kid, basically the type these neckbeards got bullied by or were jealous of in highschool. 2. He isn't Evan Mobley and they care more about proving they're superior prospect scouts than supporting their own team, and the players who wear that jersey.

Green scores more efficiently. Look at efg% and ts% and he scores 4 more ppg. So a lot more ppg and higher efficiency at the same age.

Green is a better shooter and ball handler at the same age.

Another interesting way to look at his stat splits is to look at his numbers for the whole year, split between 2 centers vs less than two centers. I thought about making a new thread for it (IDIOT?) but decided it did not actually deserve it. Anyway, here are the splits via pbpstats.com -

    With 2 centers on: 20.8 points per 100 poss, 45% from 2, 25% from 3, 46% TS
    With 1 center on: 25.8 points per 100 poss, 55% from 2, 39% from 3, 61% TS

Not that this is anything groundbreaking, anyone watching can tell that he does better without clogging the lane with two centers, but it's nice to have the actual data behind it.
