last 6 games 37/37/60 shooting splits and way below average TS% then tonight u can add on 3-11 shooting and 1-5 from 3 bringing those splits down to 36/31/60 Since when are u considered good with those shooting splits? Idk why people just ignore his shooting percentage and efficiency when it comes to KPJr? if that’s considered good, then Westbrook has been phenomenal the past few years
I've seen enough, he has problems dribbling through traffic and finishing the basket. Another problem is whenever he loses the ball, he just stops playing. Now, I see he is hesitating on his shots. 2020-21 KPJ is not the same man this year.
I’m not a big fan. I was preseason. But I’m not now. I do t think he’s a PG, no matter how hard we try to make him one. he’s an inefficient scorer. He doesn’t have unique PG vision, handles or passing. he’s a great athlete, can do all of the above decently enough so he will have some games where you’ll think woah maybe it can happen. but on the whole id rather see him at SF than PG honestly. he’s played too bad to even get anything meaningful back in a trade. If he plays good no one will want to trade him. my biggest issue is that the ball doesn’t move as fast when he’s in the game. He’s ball dominant and slow in the way Harden was but obviously being nowhere near that capable. Which makes it a problem. And obviously he’s young and doesn’t have a lot of PT in his career - less than a full season of starts. But he’s also not ball dominant in the way a Lowry is, directing the offense and getting everyone in place, finding the matchups, etc. I don’t think he has a very high bball iq honestly. if I could trade him for a first round pick I probably would. I’m not sure anyone would give you that though.
He doesn't dissect the court to make plays with a live dribble. He has his mind made-up already before he makes it half-court for a side pass or scoring attack. His eyes are always down. He also seems jealous of Green. He knows that's his threat
Team record 4-2 in those games mind you. Fans just have to be patient...........but some can't wait for him to grow. Hasn't even played 100 NBA games yet 3-11 tonight because he had a bad shooting second half
Rockets managed to win 4 of 6 games while he continued his trash shooting and efficiency…still 10-26 on the season he must be shooting bad in the 2nd half all season then
lol keep hating buddy. he is going to be a very good player. you must do this to all young players, just hate on them for fun, expecting them to be super perfect right away
I doubt anyone would give a FRP for KPJ. Maybe Wood from a contender but yeah. This guy looks rough at the PG spot. You just don't see *it*.
All I know is I've been thinking about PGs a lot more in this upcoming draft...if we can get a good PG with the Miami pick or even trade up to get one because... I do have my doubts. He plays more like a wing and as someone mentioned in the GT, his decisions always seem to be seconds too late. He can certainly look amazing some games but then he looks bad. His bad games are really bad while his good games are really good. He has to raise the floor on his bad games if he wants to reach that all-star level. I'm for keeping him around this year because I'm not sure what we can do this year but keep him around. I mean we have another year of him before we really have to start wondering if he can fit long term... But he's not some untouchable. They should absolutely consider offers for him quietly. Super quietly. Not sure how he'd react if he learned we were trying to trade him.
His shooting isn't where it should be for the PG position. But, he has been a positive influence on defense. The Rockets perform worse on defense when he isn't on the court. I think it's critical for Silas to get the starting lineups and rotations right. Silas should've started Tate tonight instead of Nwaba. When Mathews is back healthy the lineup needs to be Porter, Green, Mathews, Tate, and Wood. Good things happen for the Rockets offensively when Tate and Mathews are on the floor together.
He is far too indecisive with his decision making. I've never seen another guard - let alone PG - pick up his dribble with no idea what he's going to do next, more than KPJ.
I had high hopes that he could be a harden type player but those hopes are fading fast. He is way to inconsistent
This is what I see too. He is too indecisive at times. He plays better when he is more direct. I like his hesitation moves, but he is overdoing them I think? Perhaps some straight line drives in the mix might help. All the talent, looks great when he has it all together. But can't get his close shots to go this year for whatever reason
21 years old - learning the hardest position on the court to play, and you guys are giving up on him when he has shown amazing progress. LOL - man - harsh crowd. DD
Too harsh yes…. “Amazing progress”….ehhhh… that might be a little much. He’s had good moments. I’ll just leave it at that. I’m fine leaving him on the team another year or two and letting the chips fall where they may with his free agency. The big question though is offering him an extension. If Stone pulls the trigger and gives this guy 20 mil+ a season (KPJ’s agent is likely demanding much much more) ill want Stone gone right away. I’ve seen enough to know he’s not worth a huge contract gumming up your cap space. But I don’t know why everyone is like “I’ve seen enough… start DJ Augustine.” That take is kind of silly. Who cares? Let the guy play it out this season and if he throws a fit cause he didn’t get an extension and you put him on the bench next year, you trade him for a bag of chips.
Someone make a video of him not getting back on defense when it doesnt go his way. Then post it to his Twitter feed, maybe it will trigger something
Still confused as to why people see at as a PG or bust situation? Dude can still be a starter quality wing even if he doesn't pan out at the point, you know, considering he's played as a wing for years before we tried to turn him into Harden (which is never going to work with any player, there's only one Harden.)
Countless great looks created...sometimes with a mindboggling pass...only to have the chippy conversion blown. (also, a couple of the turnovers were kinda freaky)..Not getting calls...Games like this are part of the journey for Kevin. But don't mistake what you're seeing. He's making the conversion, and should the powers that be decide he's not worthy...out to the wing him. All good either way. That said, as a far as I'm concerned he's making steady progress up top...and becoming a monster on the defensive side of the ball. We were playing Miami. Healthy, they are serious contender to come out of the East. And, they play the toughest defense there is. When it was announced that Lowry & Butler were playing... Keep it all in context. Kev's fine.
