The silas rotations told me he had no intention of winning this ballgame. He's got 3 playmakers on the floor, and cant have a respectable offensive possession down the stretch is inexcusable. This is on him.
C'mon youre smarter than that. Nobody is saying Green is God. It is weird that your young rookie who has clearly been figuring it out and was your best option all first half touches the ball like twice in the 4th. Stop being obtuse. Better things were happening when Green touched the ball opposed to KPJ and company.
There are literally drive in lay ins by him changing direction jumping side to side to avoid the charge and scoring. Plenty of examples of him crossing over players laterally like the AD crossover step back. Really dumb observation. The problem is his timing is off. That improves with more rep.
I'm not quite there yet...but I'm close. I'm there with Wood. His level of frustration over non-calls and not getting the ball borders on KPJ, if not worse. His matchups tonight were Yurtseven and Silva which should have meant a big game for him, but he was decidedly outplayed by Yurtseven in the first half. Most of his points came on put backs, and none were critical shots. I thought Wood was going to feast tonight and have a 30-point outing, but then when the game started I figured he'd get somewhere close to 20 mostly on put backs and layups but do nothing impactful on the court. He also had some terrible turnovers. As for KPJ, even when he's not frustrated, he misses open guys so often its ridiculous. During the rally in the 4th, he had a play where he shot a contested three when EG was RIGHT next to him open in the corner for the 3. Not making the extra pass and just a general lack of vision compound his consistently poor shooting and lazy defense where he just slaps at arms.
Can't wait to see the post conference to see what excuses silas has cooking up... just get rid of this guy already!
You can't say there is no go to guy the Rockets literally just ended the game trying to force the ball to Wood. They clearly get these directives, but not for Green. Bad on defense, the entire team is bad on defense, especially Wood who the team seems desperate to get the ball to as much as possible. Green does move off screens and guys literally look him off, I see it constantly throughout the game. Dude was super efficient, doesn't matter what you're doing on offense when you get hot like that, you get the ball. Green's main thing is scoring. That's what we drafted him for. That's what he's projected to be...so you'd think if he starts hitting shots the team would look for him more.
KPJ has to get better at finishing man. You can be a scoring point guard, but you have to be able to put pressure on the rim to create opportunities.
Jalen Green getting treated like PJ Tucker while KPJr gets to go 3-11 for 7 points… Jalen Green had a measly 9 shot attempts until the final minute of the game… KPJr is in his 3rd season and has worse efficiency than rookie Jalen Green…enough is enough, funnel more shot attempts to Green already
The Heat have smart veterans who took advantage of a young, dumb team. Pretty simple. The Rockets are playing hard at least.
But our team is full of scrubs right now. There isn't a veteran all-star that he needs to play behind. It's weird Silas is not coaching the team to feed the ball to him more to let him be what he was drafted to be..."a walking bucket."
