Fair enough, Johnny Nerdlinger. First Star Trek was great, 2nd was tolerable, 3rd was unwatchable. Robocop: Nope Total Recall: Nope Predator: Nope Do I really need to continue?
I knew that would be your response. You are right too. His Wolves show was better than those two movies.
Covenant wasn't that bad at all, it just wasn't what I wanted. Prometheus sucked. Because I'm a greedy b*stard, why can't we have a great Predator and/or Alien sequel? Is that asking too much? Instead of Cameron making 4 new dances with smurf movies?
The "Predators" movie with Brody was not totally terrible. Predator 2 with Danny Glover and Crazy White Guy was not bad either for a sequel
It's too bad Lana W. couldn't have just made a bad movie/sequel....she also had to make one that completely **** on the legacy of the original and insult all the die-hard fans that made her rich. Terrible person. Straight up offensive and the worst case scenario I could've imaged after this was announced. Between this, Cyberpunk 2077, and the state of Houston sports in 2021, I'm finished having high expectations.
Saw this yesterday. It wasn't awful, but was a big disappointment after 20 years; especially with how many ideas fans came up with after Matrix 2. Matrix 3 is still the worst, IMO. I will say when I saw that Lana Wachowski was directing I wondered "why are the brothers letting their sister take the reigns?" Silly me. Found out last night both Wachoski brothers have gone transgender... Sorry, both?!? This has to be so Hollywood allows them more projects.
The best Alien sequel you're going to get is the Aliens Fireteam Elite third-person shooter game. It is the best thing to happen to the Aliens universe since "Aliens".
Seems like movie was going to be made whether the Wachowski's got involved and so one of them opted to make the movie for the unapologetic cash grab that it is.
Saw this today. I liked it. I liked the basic story, the whole persona Neo has at the beginning is funny. I liked how it ended. My wife also liked it but said it was The Matrix for millennials; sort of a TLDR Matrix movie. Which leads me to: Here’s where I think it went off the rails for most people. It was rushed. It was too short for the amount of story, backstory and character building that it needed. It was very Justice League in its failings. Too much smashed into one movie. I hope it gets a director’s cut. I will also say that having the Rage cover at the end of the movie as bullshit. I need to give it another watch to digest.
Watched yesterday. It really sucked. Could have gone in so many different ways after the end of trilogy but all we get is a really boring love story.
Maybe I just got tired of all the flashbacks. I felt like it led a lot by the nose, but guess the original is over 20 years old.
It is an accurate description of the first 1.5 hours of the movie. I hated it. Wife hated it. It was just flat out garbage. Honestly amazed anyone liked it. This goes in the Aeon Flux and Artificial Intelligence level of worst movie I've ever seen.
Another meh movie. It started out interesting with Anderson being a game dev with schizophrenia where they poked fun at the studio system. They could have made the existence of the matrix ambiguous which would have been great. Instead it ended up being a bad Matrix remake.
It felt like she wanted to make a movie so terrible that there would be no demanding for a sequel. I feel like she succeeded in the first part.
