What is the usage rate for these players? You can't just go by averages when some players are handling the ball way more than Sengun and I don't mind the turnovers because this is the time to see what he is actually capable of. I don't agree he definitely needs to lose his aggressiveness on defense he reaches way too much it causes fouls and is not great fundamentally leading to him being out of position as well. You would think that him being in foul trouble constantly he would be doing it less but he is still out there reaching constantly.
I don't agree and none of the metrics for this season says they can still be a wide open offense neither KMJ or Alperen is a good floor spacer, Alperen and Wood is in no way helping the defense there are way better combinations.
Exactly. And his player-only-fans need to take off the blinders and realise that. They also need to realise that until they're willing to be realistic about his game, they're never going to be taken seriously. They already have an uphill battle for me to take them seriously as fans considering they have zero connection to the team, I'm sure I'm not alone there, especially when they post with such clear bias towards the guy they're stanning.
Sengun doesn’t have to space the floor, he’s the facilitator in that scenario. Sengun and Wood are actually two of the top 5 defensive metrics on the team for those that get consistent minutes.
I stand corrected Sengun has a lot more usage than I thought, I don't have an issue with his turnovers anyway because I like him being aggressive on the offensive end.
Yes. And Sengun is not bone headed. His basketball IQ is better than anyone's on the Rockets. Wood is not the future of this team. Sengun is.
I’ve already said he has to get fouls under control. He’s too aggressive, he needs to find the balance between aggression and patience. Every number you can find says he’s one of the best facilitators on the team. He makes his teammates better-when they move.
On the offensive side of the court maybe. Defensively he really is not showing high IQ, he makes the same bonehead mistakes over and over and over again.
The lebron-espn era started this. Forcing that first of blah blah blah something. Its all about marketing now
They were sitting down, right? Please don't trust one photo. As a professional I can tell you that there are many factors that determine how you see someone on the screen: lens, camera angle, placement... That's how guys of small stature like Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas or Daniel Craig look at least around 5'10".
am i the only one to think alpi was much better defensively in the first 10 games or so? if i recall well he could stay with all kind of guards early on but later on he got abused a lot by smaller guards
I agree, but the hyperbolic statements need to stop. As of right this moment, he does not have the highest defensive IQ on the team, at all, by any stretch of the imagination.
