Talking about how much he is fouling but not how often he goes to the line, talking about turnovers but not talking about steals, blocks, deflections, offensive boards, assists is not bias. I am the one who is biased, yeah, right. The position difference between yours and mine, that you will continue to support the rockets, does not invalidate my arguments, what i say. And does not make what you say more valueable or more valid. I can also say 'God bless America' but that does not make what I say more plausible.
Green has had some really really bad moments, he shouldn’t get more slack imo. Maybe to start the season, maybe. But Alp has been way more consistent, he’s earned his playing time. Hell, JC has earned his time and he’s been getting as much as Alp has recently.
Why would I care about God Bless America, I'm not American? Stop deflecting, it isn't flying. Your post history shows a clear bias towards Sengun, frankly, if he wants more minutes he needs to play better and foul less. And yeah he goes to the line a lot, and misses a lot of free throws. Is that supposed to be a good thing? Shaq went to the line a lot, it was how you stopped him being dominant. Let's look at his last few games shall we? Lakers: 15 mins, 4 fouls, 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block, 1 turnover - that's not a great game. Hornets: 21 mins, 5 fouls, 5 points, 6 reb, 3 ass, 2 blocks, 4 turnovers - that's a terrible game, he made as many fouls as points. Pacers: 20 mins, 3 fouls, 10 points, 8 rebounds, 3 ass, 1 steal, 2 blocks, 1 turnover - that's an ok game Bucks: 24 mins, 2 fouls, 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 ass, 4 turnovers (-23 worst on the team) - pedestrian at best Bulls: 19 mins, 3 fouls, 8 pts, 5 reb, 2 ass, 5 turnovers, 1 steal. - That's a bad game. You keep going on about him drawing fouls which is great, it does not however negate the fact that he's had bad performances and his fouling is out of control. He looks completely out of control on defense more than he doesn't. Sengun is not remotely being hard done by with his current minutes/position on the team. He has flashes of absolute brilliance, but until he learns to control himself on both sides of the court (turnovers, fouls etc) then he doesn't deserve additional play time. That's how basketball works. But sure, claim I'm the biased one whilst you literally only support one player on the team. It's cute.
Partly it has to do with Bias towards Green due to being the second pick. But mainly it has to do with us having 3 centers and there's only one position on the court for them. We have been playing really small, and there's enough spots for Jalen, and KPJ to get major minutes along with JC. Gordon sits on back to backs and is okay coming off the bench. We run 3 guard rotations all the time while we rarely do twin towers anymore. That's why Matthews and Brooks were also able just be inserted into the starting lineup and get major minutes. Any minutes Wood and Theis plays, Sengun doesn't. It's really simple as that. We can only have one center. It doesn't make sense to use Greens minutes as an example
I was comparing rookie minutes to rookie minutes. I understand the philosophy that Silas wants, even if it’s a somewhat stupid philosophy and a huge reason why the team can’t rebound and/or defend.
Dude the conversation was specifically about his turnovers and fouls affecting his ability to stay on the court so why would he not focus on that topic. It's not biased it's sticking to the actual topic.
Wait wut? Were you saying that when we had the winning streak? Do you actually think playing Wood and Sengun helps the defense? What do you think Silas's philosophy is exactly since it's so stupid?
Part of the win streak was competition. Wood is a bad defender, Sengun fouls too much. What I meant by my statement is we’re playing 4 6’4/6’5 guys and one 6’10 guy who is afraid of contact. When you have KMJ, Sengun on the bench getting minimal minutes. I’m not a fan of playing undersized all the time.
He doesn't realise he's just showing his bias more in his posts. Trying to change goalposts to prop up his ideas, and the funny thing is that Sengun is my favourite Rocket this season and I'm still saying this. I'd love Sengun to get more minutes, but until he gets a handle on his fouls and turnovers, he doesn't deserve them yet. He made the mistake of trying to project bias onto others when almost every single post he makes screams of his bias for Sengun. Player only fans are such trash tier fans.
The fouls have to get under control, too aggressive. The turnovers are way over exaggerated. JG averages .7 more per 36 and JC averages .3 per 36. Sengun has the highest assist/to ratio of the 3 young guys.
The pacers game qualifying as an okay game, followed by +/- for individual performance, the trademark stat of a poster biased against player. I wish you rookies averaging triple doubles.
Look at his last few games. Sometimes it's not about averages over the season, that's not how you handle a team. Sometimes it's about "right now" as in, if he's being sloppy for a few games (which he has) then he's going to lose minutes until he gets back under control. That's how it goes for pretty much every non-star in every sport everywhere in the world. Until he hits star level, people need to realise that he's going to lose minutes when he plays bad, and gain them more when he plays good. Think of Mathews' comments about his time in Washington and how at times he "had coach's trust" and other times he lost it. That's how sports works.
Wtf does that even mean? Shut the **** up, you're the biased one. Once again dumbass, SENGUN IS MY FAVOURITE ROCKET YOU MORON.
I am in no way against earning minutes, not even a little bit. I just think Sengun has earned the benefit of the doubt, he’s had far less bad games than good games. His leash is a choker while Greens is free reign. I think it’s hypocritical. I think it shows clear ignorance on upper management and coaching staff as well. I’m a patient person, there’s still time for the coaching staff to rectify their mistakes. Green and Sengun should be playing as many minutes as possible together. Sengun will make the game easier for Green and Green has been one of the few guards to actually pass out of PNR
Oh I agree that Green should definitely have had his minutes reduced early on especially. That's the privilege of being a #2 pick though, you don't get the leash or have to work as hard for your position because the franchise is banking on you for the future. I just don't think the argument can be made at this moment in time that Sengun is performing better than Wood, and it won't be until Sengun gets more control on both ends of the floor. That hypocrisy is never going to go away, people shouldn't even try and compare the other 3 rookies to Green, he's going to get that preferential treatment all the time unless he actually does bust. The other 3 guys are who you should compare minutes/freedom wise, they're the "project" picks, and I think Sengun's getting a much better run than the rest of the guys. Once he gets consistent and under control, his minutes will jump, and I'm here for it all day every day in my #28 jersey that I wear when I watch every game (except the Jazz, I always break out the ketchup and mustard Dream jersey for those assholes haha.)
Yeah, he is my favorite player to watch as well and even I keep saying stop ****ing reaching all the time. I mean sometimes he looks ****ing spastic on the defensive end when he continually tries and reaches on the perimeter and tries to body everybody, yeah he gets some bad calls but he needs to tone it down as well.
Leagues are way different, NBA you can’t be physical. Specially as a rookie. He has to learn that but not lose his aggressiveness
So you admit we had a winning streak playing small but you don't care and want to play both bigs more just because you are not a fan of playing undersized. Makes perfect sense.
Is that what you got from that? The winning streak was probably more aberration than anything. Lack of real opponents and shooters got hot. KMJ and Sengun can play with another big and still be a wide open offense. And it helps their rebounding and defense.
