trade cwood for marvin bagley (i know he sucks but he's an expiring) + sacto 2022 1st round pick (if can get the pick unprotected great; if not then top 3 protected). kangz are dumb enough to pull it off.

It’s even better than I expected. Four years extension starting at $29m declining to $23m.

However that makes it less likely Memphis trades him since he’s a manageable 3rd/4th contract on a contender.

I’d give them Wood, an expiring and any pick we own other than our 2023 pick. JJJ would be a crazy good fit with both Sengun and Green.

    Sengun
    JJJ
    JT
    JG
    JC

    6th man: KPJ, KJMJ

No but they’ll be good, will make the playoffs, pick will be mediocre. I think we can get two mediocre fist round picks from a wannabe contender (like Bulls paid for Vucevic) if we can’t get a great pick.

New Orleans and Charlotte for example, these are teams that are close to imploding but think they’re a player away from everything clicking. Need to find that kind of trade partner.

personally, i can't see the kings making the playoffs this season (just a week ago they basically had the same w-l record as us) but i do know that their owner is desperate and would be willing to go to lengths just to make the playoffs this year. i really think that pick will be mid to late lotto - not the best place to be in this year's draft but just additional ammo to trade up in the draft just in case the lottery doesn't fall our way.

i do agree that i can see charlotte getting desperate, but they don't own their own pick (goes to the knicks - protected 1-18; also lotto protected up until 2025). new orleans' pick actually goes to charlotte this yr but also protected - the only picks i can see them willing to trade to us are the lakers or bucks picks that they own from like 2024 onwards.

honestly i wouldn't mind what you suggested either, but if we want a potential lotto pick, other than the kings, i don't see a better trade partner.

They will just make the playoffs if they add Wood, he would change the dynamic of the team. 20/10 with average defense is a major addition, even if it’s irrelevant to our team. Where else can you acquire the @ $14m?

We can certainly do better than a #15 pick for Wood, that would make me rather work on his game and take a chance on home developing further. A 15th pick would be lucky to be the player Wood is at 26.

if more teams actually think cwood can provide a positive impact for them the better for us. i've seen enough of the guy to know that he has low bball iq and doesn't do enough to impact winning basketball and i don't think he ever will.

That is why I think most GMs tend to just sit on status quo.

They prefer not losing their jobs in the short run than making the big move.

Trade deadline blockbusters are not common these days, normally they just move role players like Danuel House, Armoni Brooks.

That’s only because we have a vacuum of veteran lead decision makers. On an established team with veteran defense where they won’t pay or play him without defense, he is a perfect fit. Joel Embiid is doing a lot with an arguably lesser player in Tobias Harris.

Wood needs an alpha for him to play well unlock his skill set. He is the answer in Charlotte because Ball NEEDS a catch and finish or catch and shoot big. This plays to Wood’s strengths while Washington plays the utility big doing all the dirty work.

The FIT is for Gordon not Wood because they NEED backcourt help not another big wanting the ball.

If Pacers GM dials up Stone. Would you do any, and how far would you be willing?

    a) Turner for Wood + 1 frp + salary filler
    b) Sabonis for Wood + 1 frp + salary filler

    c) Turner for Wood + 2 frp + salary filler
    d) Sabonis for Wood + 2 frp + salary filler

I'd trade Wood and a pick for Turner. Seems like he'd be a good partner for Sengun with him being our defensive big and Sengun the offensive big.

BTW - why would a player get SIGNIFICANT trade interest if he sucks?

I don't see John Wall getting any trade interest.

Before I even watch this let me guess. She thinks Christian Wood is soft, has a bad attitude, and thinks the Rockets should trade him.

    THANK YOU JACKSON!

I've been saying the same thing REPEATEDLY. Wood is only 26yrs old, this is his 2nd yr of playing NBA ball full time, the players around him are equally young and they all have to grow!

When Green, KPJ and Sengun gets to be 22yrs old at the level of Luka, Tre, etc. Wood will only be 29. And there just aren't that many players who are getting double doubles game in and game out.

Be careful Clutch and fans alike of what you're asking for.
