Waxing dork, the new Star Trek movies weren’t a reboot, they were an alternate timeline. I thought they were pretty good.
Tried to give it another shot after turning it off halfway last week. Couldn’t make it past another 15 min. Just bad.
Aw man, I so wanted this to be good, I have waited a year to see it and now I am going in with no expectations. I waited this long so I will see it but dam the reviews so far are not good
I'm not even going to bother with it after reading the reviews in this thread. With some movies, we're supposed to ignore films before the last one and do a reset of sorts. I'm choosing to ignore this last film in the Matrix timeline. It should have ended with the third film. It was over. I knew it was a bad idea when I heard about it. I don't know how the dead came back. I honestly don't care if the movie sucks.
After the initial shitty reviews, I went in thinking this would be the worst piece of garbage ever made. It wasn't that bad. Maybe the pandemic has broken you all's ability to judge movies because there haven't been too many noteworthy movies released in the last 2 years.
Part of it could be that I saw it after watching a bunch of genuinely good movies like Dune, The Suicide Squad, and the most recent Spider-Man. I skipped most of the movies that I knew would be trash like the Eternals, so I came in expecting a competent film. I think if I came in immediately after watching movies like Black Widow, Space Jam 2, Cruella, and Resident Evil:Welcome to Racoon City perhaps I would have had a more positive view of this garbage.
I don’t think they even clearly explain what happened. Unless that was a part I was only half paying attention.
Nothing happened. Neo went around telling people he loved Trinity and then she could fly and they killed Dougie Howser.
This movie really didn't have to be a reboot or a "jumpstart" like The Force Awakens. Can't say enough that the Wachowskis sold out and ultimately weakened the message by making the first trilogy the final answer. Lana: I did all I could with the trilogy, now WB is "forcing me" to reboot the francise, so I'm giving up all passion I had for "my baby." Neo: I did all I could and didn't make a damn difference. **** that, where's Trinity? Trinity: I was a fully empowered badass who chose to give it all up for a Prophecy I didn't think would happen. **** that, I can make babies and give that all up for a Silicon Valley douche "bot". Yay ticking timebomb of womanhood! 20 yrs later and that's it? A satire (ironic in of itself for the reasons above) of why we're all resigned to red pills by screens, anti-depressants, and other distractions because they "were right all along". And now they're taking their ball home? How boring, lame, and hypocritical is that?
Yeah not very good. A few moments. I recall little to nothing about movies 2 and 3 but loved 1. This one…nothing to say that hasn’t been said already but just wasn’t very good and glad I watched it on HBOMax
The original point of the trilogy was that at the end of the day, destroying the system wasn't worth it as it would be replaced by something worse. The theme has always been that the matrix was allegorical to being the expectations of society.
I was excited to see this movie...and then realized, wait, there was a third one? How did I miss the third one? So, I watched the third one... Lost all excitement for the new one.
