It's because Tesla's range suck all year round. No need for it to wait until it gets cold. /joke

Teslas new V11 update is terrible. They removed functionality and things that used to take 1 tap takes 2-3 which is a safety issue.

Im growing less and less confident in teslas ability by the day.

The Lucid Air looks great. If you have $170k to burn I'm recommending that compared to the Plaid S.

I love their reviews, and they pretty much nailed what I believe about the Lucid and EV's in general. Like I said before, this Lucid ain't for the every day buyer, but I hope somehow its features trickle down to cheaper variants in the future. They completely nailed the part about some controls having to be physical and not embedded in a touch UI. Nice to see the AC/volume controls at least are physical. They seemed to love the ride and handling which is amazing for a porker of a car that it is, and will please the segment that may be buying it.

Hopefully they get the squeaks/creaks they mentioned ironed out because that's kind of sad for a vehicle of that price (although German-brand owners have faced much worse... lol). If their initial quality sucks, they may have a rough time.

Still ain't for me at those prices, though.

Ya that review was very good. Creaks can be ironed out.
I feel like the car doesn't really compromise in any major way....you got a good exterior style, luxury interior that's thoughtful, really good range, power and also drives well.
Once the charging network is solid, it's a really good car for someone with money.
Like you said, once the cheaper model is out, things should be looking good for Lucid.

Picked up a Star White Premium Mach-E a couple of weeks ago. Great car so far. It's like we bought a computer with wheels. We bought the RWD extended range version because living where we do, range was more important to us than AWD benefits. Cold weather definitely affects the range, which is another reason we wanted the max range. Still, it will put you in the back of your seat. Immediate torque is cool.

The car draws looks. I've already had to show it to several people who approached us in parking lots.

So far, charging off a regular outlet is fine, though it is slow. Still, it is more than adequate for our daily driving. We have a free medium-speed charging station near one of our favorite restaurants so if we need to charge fast, we can go have lunch and put a bunch of miles on the car while we eat.

Music sounds awesome in part because the car is so quiet.

We're still figuring things out and it is a change. No fluids except wiper fluid. No maintenance except cabin air filters, brakes, and tires. Fuel is measured in percentages instead of fractions, so it sometimes seems weird when you charge goes from 85% to 74% during a day running around, but then you realize that would only be about 1/10 of a tank.

No exhaust is good thing too.

$7500 federal tax credit and a state rebate brings the cost down to $42k. Seems like a bargain.

Long trips will take some planning, but the software on the car helps a great deal and since we're retired, we won't be taking trips under much time pressure. Hell, we don't usually drive more than 2-3 hours at a time anyway.

    Highly recommend.

This is the first of three EV conversions in our family fleet. Next up is swapping a Toyota Tundra for a Ford Lightning. Can't wait.

Needs some custom wheels - those 2015 Accord Sport rims aren't cutting it.
