I assume he meant to draft some guys that they didn't draft and those went on to become pro bowlers.

thats a ridiculous statement. Rick Smith was meh. BOB viewed as a complete embarrassment across the entire league. The Texans reputation under Rick was....nothing. The Texans reputation under BOB was the biggest joke in the NFL

I dont care about their reputations. Both sucked at their jobs and that's all that really matters. Tell me about Luhnow's reputation and ask if I cared about that? It's all about being good at your job and neither of these guys were good at their jobs

You said he was just as bad as Bill O'Brien. That is objectively untrue. A D+ is still better than an F, even if both aren't good.

I said what I said and I meant it.

They were both bad at their jobs and the fact that neither can get a job in the NFL speaks volumes.

This isn't the "Maybe Bill O'Brien knows what he's doing" thread.

If Mills continues to improve (the online improvement is helping), I'd be okay with waiting a year to draft another QB.

If we drafted a first round QB and he played as well as Mills has on a team this bad, I think we would be very happy with that.

That is a really good observation. Mills looks better every week. He could very well be second only to Lawrence long term out of this draft. In Casserio I trust.

If anything this came shows us is how important it is to get a good line. Hopefully with tunsil back and some tweaks we can have a solid line.

I'd draft Neal, play Tunsil at right tackle, play Howard and Scharping at guard and Britt at center.

Trade Watson and go BPA with that pick. Ideally defense, but I wouldn't hate a WR.

I think this team has way too many holes to pick a QB in the first round. It would feel like a luxury.

I'm intrigued by Mills too. He's a guy that came into college as a top prospect then dropped on mock drafts because of injuries. Good size. Seems to be getting better at reading defenses. I'm intrigued.

This team needs so much help I'm fine with giving him another year to see how good he is.

Mills looks very poised. Playing without his leading receiver and a makeshift OL, he's put together back-to-back wins and LAC were playing for a playoff spot.

    Nice win!

Yup he has all the tools. Size, intelligence, strong arm, accurate, throws with touch and anticipation, goes through his progressions, anticipates pressure, etc.

He would be a 1st rounder in this coming draft…

Give him a training camp and preseason as QB1 and the Texans can really see what they have in him.

Mills has had 3 nice games in a row - very encouraging to see him putting things together as the year progresses. He's put together a very respectable season after having been put in an impossible situation in his rookie year.

If we have our QB of the future in Davis Mills, then that would be huge. Focus the draft picks on other areas, and then hopefully dump Watson for a haul of picks to stock the cupboard with young talent. The rebuild may only take 3 seasons.

TJ Yates played in the NFL for seven years. So, I think Mills will last at least five years.
