And that's saying a lot, considering we've had this never-ending list of fools: Kubiak, the McNair family, Easterby, David Carr, Tony Boselli, Dom Capers...

I was suggesting you might be sorry for constantly defending the worst coach AND the worst GM in Houston sports history.

The thread title SHOULD embarrass you.

O’Brien is FAR from the worst coach in Houston History. Texans made the playoffs in 3 of his 7 years and went 9-7 in another season.

As a GM? Fine…but I never wanted him as GM.

At the time, the Tunsil trade was smart. They made the playoffs when their Oline was going to get Watson killed. The list of moves after Gains got himself fired were good. Look at the moves in the first post. However, the problem was also the Tunsil trade were he set the market (followed by other teams later) by giving up 2 #1s and a 2nd. Short gain, at the expense of future thinking. When you do that too much, you have what happening with the Texans now.

O'Brien was thinking about his job at the time, instead of the franchise's future. Moves can be good AND bad at the same time.

You have mentioned Gaine getting himself fired multiple times but has this ever been proven? Was there a settlement? If Gaine was guilty of the accusations why is he still in the NFL?

Also the Tunsil trade is the reason O’Brien should never have been allowed to be a GM too. GM O’Brien made a shortsighted decision to protect and save HC O’Brien. They had just drafted Howard and should have given him a shot at LT. Here we are 4 years later and Howard is excelling at LT when given the shot to play at his natural position.

The Texans fired him for cause. I'm sure there was a settlement. Gaine was in Buffalo before he was with the Texans. That is where he went back to. The NFL is hush-hush with these types of things. His relationships in Buffalo is probably why he was able to stay in the NFL. If the Texans were able to get Caserio after Gaine's firing, we would have avoided most of this mess. The NFL changed the rules that prevented Caserio from interviewing with the Texans.

    did you read the article?

“The Texans released a statement to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle denying the discrimination allegations and stating the organization wasn't aware of the complaint when it fired Gaine.”

LOL. The Texans are not going to admit anything when you have pending lawsuits. Come on now. There were other sources.

Intentionally sabotaged his own team trying to go somewhere else. There is a special place in hell for maniacs like that.

BOB wanted to see what Watson could do with an OL, so Gaine/BOB drafted Scharping/Howard and traded for Tunsil. The idea was to rebuild the defense by adding guys like Blacklock/Greenard etc... and add a couple of good/great FA's to fix the defense. That plan went to crap after Watson's selfish way extended to a sexual predator being turned loose on society.

"Howard's pass-blocking grades against the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts in his two starts and 110 snaps at left tackle: 86.4 and 83.8, according to Pro Football Focus analytics."
