And jokic in 2021 is a billions times better than what curry did in 2020

The Lakers were blown out 138-110 by San Antonio, their fourth loss in a row and one that dropped them below .500 going into Saturday’s diluted holiday matchup with the COVID-ravaged Brooklyn Nets.

These are unique times, and the Lakers’ 16-17 record can’t be presented without fairly weighing all that has happened to their roster: the COVID-19 protocols that have caused seven of their players to miss games in the last two weeks — five, plus head coach Frank Vogel, were still out Thursday — as well as the knee injury that will sideline Anthony Davis until at least mid-January.

“We have no chemistry with any lineup, for the simple fact that we literally haven’t logged enough minutes,” James lamented.

Nonetheless, the fact that the Lakers were barely competitive on a night they got 36 points from their best player, as well as 30 more from Russell Westbrook, should be cause for some alarm.

The Lakers were without several key role players and one of their stars. But the Spurs entered the night six games under .500 and without, gasp, even one future Hall of Famer on the roster. “We’ve got to ride it out,” Westbrook said. “There’s no need to panic now. There’s a lot of games left, we’ve got 50 or so games left, whatever. But … we do need to win games when we have an opportunity to do so.”

And maybe they will do that and make a big playoff push to give Crypto.com Arena its own set of Lakers memories.
