The Rockets need to capitalize on Wood's value before other teams catch on.

Wood has been on 6 teams in 6 seasons for a reason, and watching him play it's quite clear that his counting stats are very good but his defense, general awareness, and effort is just highly questionable.

Any scouts or GMs that spend time reviewing Wood's game footage will notice pretty big red flags in his game, but fortunately there are still a good number of GMs that don't do their due diligence, and in a player driven league there will be stars out there that would ask for a guy like Wood on their team.

I can’t believe Wood is thinking that he should get near max money. He probably will further decrease his value because it will show how much out of touch he is.

His defensive presence is nonexistent. Too many times a guy just drives into his chest without any fear. He can’t disengage from the post man to play help. If he’s the weak side defender he’s not in proper position to help contest. Slow to close out. Sorry man I just don’t like bigs who can’t play defense. Not worth the salary.
