It's hard to take the author of this "bump piece" seriously, Os, when he essentially blames the current inflation on "the Biden administration’s wild money-printing and spending spree" during his short term in office, something he tossed in while criticizing Ms. Warren. Not that Senator Warren has never deserved criticism during her years in the Senate and on the national stage.

We are supposed to ignore, I suppose, the influence on inflation of the $7.8 trillion dollar addition to the national debt thanks to the wild tax cut and spending spree during trump's 4 years in office. If one adds that to the inflation caused by the massive economic disruption of the pandemic, which is something we would be facing regardless of who might be president of this country, in my opinion, and I can't say that I'm surprised that we have significant inflation to deal with.

It's painful, no doubt about it. The idea that the predicted inflation due to the pandemic would be short lived didn't take into account as much as it should have the possibility of variants like Delta and Omnicom. The Biden Administration is certainly not alone in not warning sufficiently just how much impact unforeseen variants might have on early predictions on inflation, but arguably should have done a better job of it, in my opinion. It was always, and remains, the big "unknown." Will this ever "end?" We're all still waiting to find out.

Agreed - I'm not arguing the why or fairness of big grocery. Just that blaming them and their stock buybacks for inflation is nonsensical. That's not what's driving prices up.

I tend to agree with this. Even if bigger-picture many of their ideas are good and even necessary, their messaging is a godsend for the GOP. They seem to very much live in a bubble and don't seem to get how their messaging plays outside of that world.
