This is somewhat true. I’m a fan and my post history supports that, but he’s only been okay the last 3 games if we’re keeping it real and being honest. Yes he has a couple highlights each game, but overall he’s played below expectation level in my opinion since we’re saying he’s our best player right? I was going to make a post about some things I’d like to see him do over the next week to get back on that upward trajectory, but didn’t want no smoke from the Goon Squad aka the Goonies. It’s Christmas, positive vibes only lol.
Lol. They gotta suck someone’s dick….. I love Sengun but christ….. I don’t need to be Sigmund Freud to see some folks just need a savior figure to rally around.
Jeez, alright. Didn't really think my post constitutes "a riot" but I guess you read it a different way. Was just going for some discussion.
Relax big guy Im not attacking you or your post. Just pay attention to the thread and you'll see what I mean.
Sengun needs to hire someone professional to make a video of bogus calls against him. It is really weird.
ALPEREN SENGUN IS A GREAT YOUNG PLAYER. I'M HAPPY TO HAVE HIM ON THE TEAM AND I THINK HE WILL BE AN ALL STAR TYPE PLAYER IN A COUPLE OF YEARS.
Lol alright well if you're going to make this point then don't quote my post to do it unless you are attacking me and my post.
Lol. How insecure you have to put someone else down in order to prop your guy up. These are all Rocket players, why the sniping?
"No. Because I don't like his face" Lmao. That reply still sticks with me because I still feel the same way about the Patriots rookie qb.
I don't have a problem with how he's being officiated outside of that one game. I know a lot of people complain about it but I think the whistle he gets is fair, he just fouls a lot. And the refs do him a lot of favors on the offensive end, he's got the third highest free throw rate in the league behind Giannis and Embiid, how insane is that for a rookie? I just thought the bulls game last night was really really unusually bad. Don't think it's a pattern.
this is true and good! prProper discussion is always welcome. in this case people including me was trying to explain that 5 turnover comment was out of context and blown out of proportion by giving numbers, examples from games. In return instead of making a counter argument or any argument, labels are being thrown around.
I guess there are two kinds of people in Alperen Sengun fan club: -Love Alpi hate others (minority) -Basketball literate people (majority) We are talking about a 19 years old boy (still teenager) who became MVP in every league he played, selected to All-Tournament teams in Euro U16 and Euro U18 Championships, led an NBA team in points/rebounds/assists in a match in his rookie season. I don't know what Muricans think how MVP is selected in Turkey. Do they think a bunch idiots similar to Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfovitz type of folks sit around a table and decide :"let's shock the world, choose an unknown 18 years old from an ignorable basketball team (BJK is an important soccer club but ignorable in basketball). I try to watch Rockets games through the rivals' commentators. In every match they praise Alpi. Meanwhile I follow Forum' comments. There was one yesterday as:"Sengun is little bit slow". Someone replied as "he is in the game just for one minute, what you expect". The answer was not a riot, a perfect explanation. When someone gave lots of stats, you said "oooh, tell me more". Not a clever action. What you expect from a teenager, drafted at#16. Prime Hakeem footwork, Kareem's skyhook, Curry's 3s,Magic's playmaking, Shaq's power? He is a mortal basketball player (a very good one) and will be All-Star (I believe Rockets drafted 4 future All-Star in 3021) but still not ubermensch. Alpi fan club just checking the facts and enjoying the game he plays. Not all of them but most of them. Recommend to you also.
He's the latest in the long line of the next great white hope who are tall and relatively unathletic. I'm surprise DD isn't posting on every page of this thread. Only Parson really panned out. Nachbar was pretty decent. Nachbar Novak Collier Damn Lanky Budinger Parsons Sam Dekker Hartenstein
Y Yesterday was special. Other than that I think lately it was much better compared to the start of the season. I still would not call it fair but it is better to focus on his fouling issue. and he fouls a lot. Some of it is a rhythm issue. Tends to foul early in the game or when he is subbed in. Some others are risking too much for little reward. And some bogus calls.
Thats fair. Pretty safe to say that the NBA is the best basketball league in the world and MVPs from other leagues are not instantly going to find success. He has his warts, but somehow its always a love fest here for him - and even more interesting "fans" will throw other players on the team under the bus in order to make that point. His career arc and trajectory are pointing in the right direction. Here's hoping that he doesnt pull a Luka and decide that working out is not as important and becomes a fat ass. Time will tell.
