You guys are ignorant. I mean really really fuc**ng ignorant. When the policies are looked at and polled individually they all range from popular to extremely popular. Just a word of advice just because you want something to be true and you spout it off over the internet doesn’t make it true. To anyone that actually knows what is going on and doesn’t just fall right in line with what their group thinks you look like you’re on a sports team etc that is incapable of thinking for yourself. This goes for many left leaning individuals too. People out there that have an interest in politics trying to stay informed. Ok great. If you can not think critically without always Always falling hook line and sinker for what you are being told. Well… you are simply wasting your time. So as I said you above you are either ignorant. Or, just flat out incapable of seeing past your own biases that you are likely only being exposed to (you where you are getting “informed”) Because it is 100% fact that many of the social policies in the bill are universally popular. There is also always the fact that it’s a game to you, wanting the democrats to fail. Just like people wanted Trump to fail at everything he did. Bravo to all of you that feel that way as well.
[Educational Post] Actually, we are the intelligent ones capable of thinking critically and not just mindlessly following whatever the mainstream media tells us. News sources and politicians have agendas. Imagine being so brainwashed that you just take it all in at face value and then think the other guy is ignorant for disagreeing. Wow! My informational diet is carefully cultivated so that I never fall into this pit of brainless compliance. GOOD DAY
You didn't reference anything at all of what I said (you actually did and do not even realize it). You are also likely projecting. Do you need me to look up and reference polls (national and state "WV") because I can. I have read how popular things like the child tax credit is. Polls about Medicare. Help with Pre-K. etc etc etc How about a poll(s) for legalization?? Americans overwhelmingly say mar1juana should be legal for recreational or medical use https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-ta...uld-be-legal-for-recreational-or-medical-use/ How about polls for single payer/universal health care? I can find those as well. If you want to have a conversation about what I referenced that's fine. You are just spinning your wheels though (you do realize that right?) You say you are intelligent because you do not watch mainstream media. Then say I do and am brainwashed. You simply have zero knowledge about what I watch and do not watch. While I am ACTUALLY talking about factual polling data. All the while saying this you simply are incapable or refuse to reference what i actually wrote. laughable Also nice touch on the [Educational Post] I haven't seen that in a while. I guess you finally realized how lame that was. You threw that in there though because of me calling you out on it in the past. As far as you referencing what i posted and not realizing it... I'll just keep that to myself so I can simply know how incapable you are of calculating 2+2=4 really is.
Democrats descend into finger pointing after Build Back Better implodes https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...-into-finger-pointing-after-build-back-better
Florida Democrat on January 6 committee announces she won't run for reelection https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/20/politics/stephanie-murphy-not-running-reelection/index.html
One other thing I NEVER said you were unintelligent. I said you are ignorant &/or biased. It's likely a waste of one's life trying to have a conversation if a person does not want to actually reference what the other person is saying.
[Premium Post] With respect, I'm one of the smartest people that you have ever communicated with. Furthermore, 99 times out of 100, the person calling someone else ignorant is either doing so as a coping mechanism or out of insecurity due to their own personal flaws and shortcomings. GOOD DAY
As a Vietnamese, let me be the first one to say...good riddance. She’s a freaking Vietnamese and she had learned nothing about the past what those fukking Dems did to her people.
A full blown delicious civil war is happening to these God forsaken Dems. Christmas is coming early for the sane and freedom loving Americans. I hope your party will implode permanently and America will have a chance to see a new dawn.
Willingly or not you are. You do not have to accept it for it to be true. I am basing my initial statement on statistical data. You are responding with me saying that i called you unintelligent when I didn't. You now say a person that says someone else is ignorant is blah blah blah. That is you typing a number out of a number (99 out of 100) and just random terms from your head. If you do not understand the difference in what I typed and your two waste of time responses. Also to add you said you know what I watch and you don't. That you are one of the smartest people I have ever communicated with. It's pointless and baseless dribble. Just a FYI. Extremely intelligent people do not do things like the above. They are able to address what has been presented to them and stay on topic. I do not know what to tell you bud. Good luck with all that i guess.
I doubt BBB would save their bacons for 2022. Economy is too bipolar and anemic for real Americans to be optimistic about the future.
I agree a lot more can and should be done with health care but unless the ACA was passed and is maintained nothing more can or will be done on it. The frequent refrain we hear here and other places is that this is Progressives frustrated at Moderates that they aren't doing more and that most of the country want's much more done. That is ignoring the fact that there is a whole other party that WANTS NOTHING DONE. While polling data might show that people support getting much more done they aren't voting for candidates that are for doing much more. If that were the case then we wouldn't have a 50 - 50 Senate and the only a 6 vote majority in the House. This is why I keep on coming back to that what this Congress and Administration has done is historic on every scale yet the messaging out of Democrats themselves is that this is a failure.
For all of those people criticizing Manchin and calling him "Not a Democrat" and that "we might as well have a Republican" I get the frustration but he's already cast several very notable votes, including voting to impeach Trump twice and very importantly voting for Schumer for majority leader. All of us should remember how powerful being majority leader of the Senate is. McConnell held up a USSC appointment for more than a year and then rushed another appointment in less than a month. For how much frustration there might be towards Manchin, and Synema, as long as the Senate is controlled by less than 2 votes. they matter a lot. Schumer, Biden and most of the Democratic leadership knows this. Also while this very likely means the end of BBB it isn't the end of many of the features of BBB. Manchin and Synema have both stated they can support several aspects of the package even if they can't support the whole package. There still is alot that can be done including passing a more permanent targeted child care tax credit.
Loyal to a party that no longer exists Joe Manchin is out of step with his party, but it's the party that moved https://theweek.com/joe-manchin/1008261/loyal-to-a-party-that-no-longer-exists excerpt: It's possible to argue with Manchin's views on the merits. But it's misleading to characterize his opposition to the Build Back Better agenda as mere personal intransigence or, as my colleage Ryan Cooper alleges, hypocrisy and greed. One of the increasingly rare senators whose party affiliation bucks the presidential results in his state, Manchin is best understood as a pre-Obama Democrat who's indifferent to the conventional wisdom of national media and policy circles. That may frustrate progressives, who've successfully effaced the much of the party's 1990s centrism. Privately, some may even gripe that Manchin might as well be a Republican. But from a strategic perspective, they'd be wise to weigh carefully what it would mean to push Manchin out of office or out of their weak majority party with allegations of betrayal and bad faith. Control of the Senate is on the ballot in 2022, and Manchin himself is up for re-election in 2024. If they're not careful, Democrats may find losing Congress is even more frustrating than keeping a slim majority where a throwback like Manchin holds sway.
of course she does Progressive leader calls on Biden to unilaterally act on agenda https://thehill.com/homenews/house/...-calls-on-biden-to-unilaterally-act-on-agenda excerpt: It’s unclear what pieces of the roughly $2 trillion Build Back Better package could be enacted unilaterally by Biden and withstand legal challenges. For example, it's unlikely Biden could use his executive powers to extend expanded child tax credits that are set to expire at the end of the month. Still, progressives are pressing Biden to take action, and to also make tackling climate change a top priority. “Whatever costs the senator claimed to be concerned about it will cost exponentially more to act later, after the damage has occurred both in dollars and in humans,” Jayapal said, referring to Manchin's opposition to the bill's climate provisions. “We cannot pass up our singular opportunity to address the scope of this crisis.” tldr version: DO SOMETHING MURRAY
What’s especially sad is that apparently the deal-breaker for Manchin was the insistence by Biden in extending the child tax credit. Let me repeat this for the mouth breathers, moderates and those who are both - the item that killed the deal for Manchin was the child tax credit. The guy who voted for an increased Pentagon budget at a time when we’ve finally ended all of the Republican wars wouldn’t sign off on a tax break for parents. To me, this means one of two things: 1) This guy is an evil piece of **** who values defense contractors more than American parents; or (2) he’s an evil piece of **** who purposely picked the one item that he knew Biden wouldn’t cave on in order to torpedo the whole thing. And rocketjudoka- your attempt to compare Omar’s no vote on infrastructure (which was done to ensure leverage to pass the BBB and never seriously jeopardized the infrastructure bill) to Manchin’s antics (which is done with full intention to damage Democratic policy and Biden’s administration in general) is bad faith and typical of moderates failing to accept blame for their own. Shame on you.
