Green's jury is still out (Evan Mobley is definitely better so far, but remember the last loaded draft with Blake Griffin, Steph Curry James Harden, Demar Derozan, and Jrue Holiday that Tyreke Evans ended up winning the ROY). That said, if you look at other moves: The good Wood is a +contract Tate is a +contract Gary Bird is a really good signing KPJ was a good trade Segun trade has looked solid so far Josh Christopher was a good pick KJ Martin is a plus contract The bad Daniel Theis... not a bad contract but doesn't match our timelines Jarrett Allen/Harden trade .. was good with everything in the Harden trade but now Allen looks to be a borderline all star. That said, getting KPJ for a late second might have stemmed from this good will. The maybe Green - TBD Wall + FRP for WB. WB might have more uses right now but that first round pick was need for Sengun. The Verdict Not a perfect batting average but having Segun, Green, KPJ, KJ Martin, Josh Christopher, Gary Bird and Tate as a foundation in addition to a refilled coffers of picks seems like a good start. I am happy with the current state of the team and I would say B+ and maybe even A-
My judgment on him lies entirely on wether Green and our high draft picks over the next year or two pan out. Finding a star outside the top picks is nullified by drafting busts with the top picks.
I would like to point out that trading WB likely made us a much worse team. WB would have likely willed us to a much much much better record.
I'll take being awful with Wall on the bench than winning 30 games watching WB chuck up 30 shots a game while rookie James Bouknight languishes on the bench.
Yes, this would of been tragic. We really are blessed not to lose our draft pick last year. I know everyone is not super happy about J Green right now, but man, we likely would be in a much worse spot now if it wasn't for that Wall trade. Who can ever forget John Wall willing us to a forced loss against the Memphis Grizzlies last year. Masterful performance.
This is such a sheet take. In his first year we are so far ahead of so many teams that have been ta nking for years. 4,really good rookies, Kpj, matthews, Tate, Kjm, brooks, tons of draft picks, wood and Gordon which can either contribute or garner even more assets. Anybody that doesn’t think stone is doing an amazing job is an imbecile..
I had it edited but your take is one of the fascist kind. Lol. Carry on. Last time I checked, amazing is not a grade. Do you think I am scared if you passive aggressively call me an imbecile.....who cares. The GM job has expanded, it also encompasses the responsibility to communicate to the fans. And that he is severely lacking. He also intervenes in coaching.
He has been fine. I wasn't a fan of the Theis signing, but it doesn't hurt us. Only major blunder was not moving Wood at this past draft. Could end up being a pretty catastrophic mistake.
Why do you even care what others think, you said your piece. You could totally just leave it there to be. I said he does a decent job, you said he did an amazing job.......could have left the imbecile part out but you chose not to. That is clearly borderline judging people for their opinion lelz, not so great on your part.
Alright, you word it, anyone who doesn‘t think Stone did an amazing job, does not know what he is talking about. I can live with that, and take the word back.
Overall I think Passing on Mobley and Allen might prove to outweigh things like finding Mathews and tate, or drafting Christopher and Garuba late. Trading for Sengun was solidly in his favor. Thies and Nwaba signings were bad. Overall its been hit or miss but the biggest swings were misses, so far. Jalen can catch up to Mobley (its very early in their careers), and He'll have another shot at a likely top 5 pick this summer. I'm also interested to see what he gets at the deadline for gordon and maybe wood.
Even this is unnecessary. I don't know why Americans love this structure in their arguments. They start off really rational, sorting and sharing their points, answering and negating the opposition's arguments if there are any, and give a very comprehensive, airtight debate performance. Then they end that beauty with something along the lines of "... and if you don't agree, you're a gd moron." That last part kills everything before it. Here you are, arguing and making a strong case and suddenly you regress to your juvenile years. Unnecessary, to say the least.
