The Manhattan District Attorney's Office is conducting a wide-ranging inquiry into Trump and his company. Court filings suggest prosecutors are focusing on whether they illegally kept two sets of books — one that painted a rosy financial picture to obtain favorable loan terms, another featuring grim data to pay less in taxes.

the testimony of the Ex-wife on the son of Trump co CFO provides another eg of creative accounting by the Trump co. many creative accountants end up in jail, some end up dead.

The Washington Post has reported prosecutors are trying to "flip" Weisselberg into cooperating with the investigation. https://www.businessinsider.com/jen...enced-trump-investigation-manhattan-da-2021-3

Jennifer Weisselberg divorced Allen Weisselberg's son Barry in 2018. The couple received an apartment as a gift from Trump when they married in 2004, but Barry Weisselberg may have skipped out on paying taxes on it by categorizing it incorrectly in his tax filings, according to Bloomberg News. That apartment — as well as other numerous financial entanglements between the Weisselberg and Trump families — appears to be at the center of the effort to flip Weisselberg into cooperating.

Vance appears to be approaching the final stages of his investigation into Trump. He will retire at the end of 2021, he announced Friday.

we already know about bonus payments to Ivanka, an officer of the Trump co who draws a salary, were being reported as consultant fee; this was to avoid payment PR tax on the bonus awarded to princess Ivanka

The DA's office charged the Trump Organization and Weisselberg in July with 15 felony counts, accusing him of tax fraud and grand larceny.

Prosecutors said the alleged criminal conduct was carried out as part of a "sweeping and audacious payment scheme" and that Weisselberg personally did not pay taxes on $1.7 million of his income dating back to March 2005.

Weisselberg's defense team had met w the judge today requesting more time to prepare for the case, as a result additional documents produced by the DA, the team said "It was represented to us by the [district attorney's office] that this package includes documents found in co-conspirator's basement that are tax documents,"

Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg's lawyers say they have 'strong reason to believe other indictments are coming', https://www.businessinsider.com/all...ct-more-indictments-trump-organization-2021-9

to the extend that Trump had signed the checks to Weisselber for the unreported income to the CFO, it'd not be far-fetch to say that Trump may be one of those co-conspirators

David Cay Johnston is a fairly meticulous journalist and is very careful what he puts out. Trump has threatened to sue Johnston many times, but has never. Johnston claims that Trump won't ever sue since Johnston always has multiple secure sources for his reports.

Former president Donald Trump will soon be indicted for criminal racketeering under New York state law, according to Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist David Cay Johnston.

Johnston indicated Saturday afternoon that the charges will stem from Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance's ongoing investigation into whether Trump's company misled lenders or tax authorities about the value of its properties.

"I anticipate they're going to bring a racketeering charge against Trump," Johnston said. "Certainly Trump's team, when he's indicted, and I'm certain he will be indicted, is going to try to lay the blame on everybody else, and so what the prosecutors want to show that is if (Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer) Allen Weisselberg phonied up documents, it was at the direction of Donald Trump."

    PGab stupidity, ---asserting that TrumpCo officer Ivanka (who gets a W2) is also a consultant :oops::oops::oops::oops::oops: to the co----precedes himself;
now the mental midget, continues to publicize / remind us how stupid he is, too stupid to understand these developments

    • rosemary vrablic, Trump's (awa Jared Kusher's / Ivanka's) personal banker at Deutche Bank, who had been forced to resign, and later suspended by FINRA, has agreed to be interviewed by regulators.
    • A Trump-appointed federal judge ruled that the Treasury Department could disclose his tax returns to the House committee that requested them more than two years ago. https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/14/politics/trump-irs-disclosure-tax/in
      • in the last page of his opinion, the judge concluded that the House Committee can do whatever it wants with Trump's tax returns, including making them public

So the IRS has already blessed Ivanka's tax returns?

There is nothing unusual about a company's audited financial statements and tax returns being different

So you're not a man and a liar I've made one claim. Tax returns and financial statements don't have to match. Is that true or false?

Has a bank ever sued the Trump Organization for fraud? This isn't a young business. That aspect of the investigation seems like an incredible waste of time

Why are audited required by the SEC of public companies if you already have tax returns.

The reason I've made this one claim is because your article is pointing out the difference in tax returns and financial statements.

So again do they have to match?
