I think Franklin’s is still amazing

but I agree, especially Micklethwait. Stopped there twice this year. Also by far the best sides of any of the top places

    HeyPartner:

As a food critic, you should stick to your actual job.

Like that one time at band camp talking smack about the Jazz? In front of an actual Crowd? That I gave you to speak?

But my post was a joke about a Traeger update.

Are you talking about a previous post in this thread?

In what capacity would you ever think I'd talk about a pellet grill.

    Amateur hour is over.

Still didn’t answer my question. What are you talking about -> “As a food critic, you should stick to your actual job.”

I wasn’t critiquing food, man. lulz

In what world is this humorous?

You're messing with the wrong guy...
mmhmm. Coming from a guy who I gave lip service to **** the bed,

I don't fault you for it. But own it. You **** the bed.

    Am I wrong?

Don't come at me when I gave you a podium, son.

I legitimately wanted to know if you were referring to a previous post of mine in this thread, so we could chat about BBQ. I recall my last post here was long and a food critique post. I thought maybe you back-read something, since your post was so far removed from the tweet I posted.

lulz, if you actually interpreted my question as “messing with” you and “coming at” you.

when did you become so overly-sensitive to the internet?

Franklin is that good. They can’t just keep them at number 1 forever.

BBQ question: Smoking a Chuck roast instead of ground beef for Texas Chili.

Anyone have a method for smoking the Roast? I’m thinking 250 for 8 hours-ish. I figure it doesn’t necessarily need to go the full length. Not sure if you need to wrap or not halfway through.

For the Chili… I’m pretty basic but if anyone wants to share secrets let it rip.

Hutchins BBQ is right around the corner from me. I had no idea he was working there since this past summer. They've had great bbq for years. Mueller's family is like the First Family of Texas BBQ. He had a rough life, people thought he was arrogant, and fought alcoholism and who-knows-what-else, but the man new BBQ. R.I.P.

3rd Coast BBQ in Spring off Rayford Rd. will be on this list next time around.

Pit Room is terribly overrated. Brisket is mediocre. Beef rib is good and nice that you can get it every day but there's just nothing else that stands out. As a northsider, I'll take Corkscrew and Tejas (along with 3rd Coast) any day over any of the city options. The Killens location in The Woodlands is just awful.

That was very sad when I heard that yesterday.

He was a interesting yet crazy man, but a hell of an outdoor cook, and fun as hell to talk to.

Pit Room is great for what it is. Its close by, and you can eat there any day of the week. Decent BBQ you can still convince old people without proper taste buds to eat at. Its a huge upgrade from places like Good Co that typically fill that void.
