They'd be dumb if they don't milk this for all its worth. As far as where they go next: Spoiler I really like that they can essentially retcon the franchise. The next movie, if it's still Tom Holland's Spidey, doesn't have to feature Ned and MJ, which is a smart idea. In the comics, Parker enrolls at Empire State University. As MCU Parker wasn't accepted to MIT, the MCU route and comics route might converge - he gets accepted to ESU, works for the Daily Bugle as a photographer and fights crime as Spidey. I'm just wondering how high the stakes are, for SM4. You had a local villain (Vulture) for 1, higher-level villain (Mysterio) for 2 and introduced the multi-verse for 3. What the hell are they going to do for 4?
may want to spoiler tag that but that’s what I’m thinking too. I feel like MCU/Disney has been dying to do their rendition of venom/carnage
What's there to spoil? This is conjecture about what the next movie could be about. Kingpin and Venom are Spidey's most well known adversaries that weren't in any of the previous MCU movies.
I think SM4 is going to have to either branch out or continue with similar events from No Way Home. After this movie, I don't think the formula of "Spider-Man tries to thwart dangerous earthbound villain(s). And that's it...that's the movie," will work. The stakes have gotten way too high. Branch out: Spoiler Introduce Black Cat. Introduce a Gwen Stacy. Introduce Eddie Brock because of the mid-credits scene. Have it be a Spider-Man movie but also have a mini team-up in the movie with Daredevil or another street-level hero. Continue with events: Spoiler Because some of the symbiote was left on the bar counter, Venom can now be canon, so introduce Eddie Brock. Because 3 was about the multi-verse, introduce Spider-Gwen, Earth 2099 Spider-Man or hell, even have Miles Morales be there. An older Peter Parker can now serve as mentor.
Talking about Spider-Man 4 already is akin to Hobby Lobby putting out Easter stock in early December. I mean can we just get through Christmas first?
Spoiler They have essentially rebooted Spider-Man so I think they will do a smaller scale big bad like Kingpin or Venom (maybe both play a role?). It would also be a nice transition to get the Netflix Marvel characters back in. [\Spoiler]
I'm coo with smaller scale, neighborhood spidey-level stories for a bit. It should be another slow build to an epic 3rd (6th) movie.
ned is your next big bad. ned will be venom with magic hands and he will kill peter parker. then strange doctor shows up to say
Really looking forward to Dr. Strange casting a spell to help spidey get a job at the Daily Bugle, only for spidey to screw it up and release Chthulu on the Earth. Spidey then gets sappy about sending Chthulu back to his dimension and stops Strange, only to release a black hole that swallows the entire milky way galaxy.
I would have Kraven just absolutely wrecking the new incognito spider man, with no one to call for help after the last spell. I am talking a total beatdown. Bloody, broken bones, verge of death. And then the symbiote just drips down and ushers in black suit spiderman.
