    Love Sengun.

But he's not ready to start.

Jalen Green isn't either and he starts every game. Rockets should be losing anyways so how can he not be ready for that.

Yeah, not a fan of Green starting either.

At least Sengun has a better argument for starting.

No EGo to Knicks trades? RealGM says they’re interested… what does that even look like?

Gordon for Kemba and Obi Toppin technically works. Get ‘er done!

Toppin is getting consistent playing time now and starting to play up to his high potential. I don’t think Gordon has that kind of value. I would like to be wrong because Toppin has always been intriguing.

I don't see what Min, Sac or Phi could give the Rockets to help with a rebuild? None of them have 1st rounders.

That may be inaccurate, some of these sights make it harder than it needs to be to track picks.

you're right if the goal is competing right now. but the goal is player development. that's why Jalen green starts. its why sengun should start. they need the reps and the experience.

Nwaba is contributing again, Augustin brings that vet presence, Gary Bird got his contract, JC is showing something, Brooks is solid as depth, KPJ and JG will be back at some point. Sengun is ready for a bigger role, Theis can split minutes with him. Martin and Tate have the 4 locked up.

The time is now, trade EG and Wood for waivable expiring's and picks. We are winning too many games and are going to create a non-closable gap between us and a top 3 pick. I love outperforming better teams, but it's more important to have a higher chance at landing a young star.

New look Rockets (think future & development)
    Lots of trades:

    NYK
    Gordon
    …for…
Barrett & future SRP (Knox as filler)
    Why
KYK - Gordon upgrade over Barrett & Knox is DNP-CD
Rox - sneak peak at to underproducing lottery talents both on team options & a SRP, most importantly Gordon is having fun again.

    Charlotte
    Porter & Theis
    …for…
    Bouknight & Jones
    Why
FIT / win now => Theis’s skills are what the Hornets lack. Porter in the post game interview said he had A LOT of friends on this team => they need a 6th man, too. Setting them up for a real play off push. They only add to the talent on the court, too. Bouknight & Kai are not ready yet => perfect for our needs.

    Grizzlies
    Green
    …for…
    Melton & 2 FRP
    Why
Griz get a potential star that fits their play / needs.
We have Christopher and now Bouknight & Barrett. We need a point that makes a difference without being ball dominant. The picks further fill in the holes from the OKC trade.

    Rockets
We need to build around Sengun with shooting and defense. We have our future already here in Ali so let’s stay young but keep him as the center of all development. If it doesn’t make him better than it’s not a good for the team.
    ———

Trade deadline move Wood for a wing & picks

Wall there is no answer for but wait.

    Posted this in another thread.

    76ers - Russel, Wood
    Min - Simmons
    Hou - prince, niang Minnie’s frp pick 2022, 2024, 2026

Assuming Fanspo has the picks right.

Hawks get Theis, Eric Gordon And 2 2024 2nd round picks (via GS ans Brooklyn)

Bulls get Cam Reddish, Jae'sean Tate and Mil 2023 FRP

Rockets get Pat Williams and Danillo Gallinari

Hawks get a vet player and theoretically good fit with Trae. Theis is Big man insurance since they dont seem to have a lot of luck with that.

Bulls get not one. But two wing defenders to replace Patrick Williams who was their best defender before coming down with his wrist injury.

Rockets get a defensive stud who can play either wing position. Him being injured means thats a few marks off the win column to maybe get back into the top 3 pick. Otherwise, you still have Patrick Williams who fills a lot of what the top 3 guys can do, and you look towards someone like Mathurin or PBJ in the draft.

White+Jones Jr+Williams+Brown for Wood/Nwaba/Theis/Brooks and the Bucks pick with us smacking some protection on the pick.
