Loved that movie as a kid, really liked that it was based around Houston one of the 1st movies I remember doing that.

I probably watched Escape from LA a billion times on VHS. Not sure if true, but I read Kurt Russell actually hit that full court shot in the basketball scene.

    A Boy And His Dog
Starring Don Jonson, based on a short story by Harlan Ellison.
My older brothers took me to see this for a midnight movie at the River Oaks theater. I was probably around 8 and it played no small part in my sexual awakening (towards girls, not dogs).

The Road... by Cormac McCarthy. Awesome book, awesome movie (as are most with Viggo Mortensen).

Espace from LA is underrated IMO, I really enjoyed that movie, I need to watch it again to see if it still holds up.

I noticed the RT scores for this movie were not very good. Couldn't figure out why so went back and watched it again. ******* Jodie Foster. She really is awful in this so I blame her. There is never a middle ground in her performances. She is either award worthy awesome or can totally wreck an otherwise great movie.

I think some of those low review scores are because the same director made such a phenomenal movie as his debut in District 9 that everything afterward felt like a letdown. Although I really liked Chappie for it's weird future South African underworld culture.

Rumor has it District 10 is being worked on. I am confident it won't be offensively violent though.

As a kid, I always loved Night of the Comet.
