As much as we all want Toppin this scenario is more realistic. No way in hell are we getting Toppin for Eric Gordon. I can easily see Walker, Knox, Charlotte's 1st (top 18 protected) for Gordon and either House or a 2nd rounder.
Give up on Knox. He's not an NBA player. It's just gonna be TWill 2.0. Gimme Grimes or either their, Dallas, or Cha 1st and I'm good. Would would really want 2 of those though.
House makes the salaries not work. Knicks don't have any TEs either So someone would need to be waved before a 2 for 1 trade could be done Or get a 3rd team in to take a player
I'm not a trade expert, but isn't NBA still a max 15 man roster in regular season (up to 20 in offseason). There might be exceptions for things like covid. Rockets has 15 players currently, not counting 2 two-way contracts: Garrison and Nix. Is it possible to get rid of two people to take in three players? It'd be 16.
I'm happy to take back bad money in those deals as long as they don't eat up 2023 cap space and come with an extra pick or a higher quality pick. I'd also consider combining wood, gordon, and lower picks for a borderline Allstar who becomes available. I know many of us consider wood a borderline Allstar but we need to make room for sengun. I'm also not sure we can attract someone of that caliber even with max cap space in 2023. its a bit counter intuitive since most would assume we should be liquidating talent for picks rather than consolidating/upgrading talent.
Don't forget who made that https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/animated-video-of-morey-walsh-negotiating.182013/
Hope this happens, Gordon can help a playoff team and we could use an additional asset and top 5 pick this year.
