What's the guy supposed to say? "I wish I had chosen college?" or "I hope I"m as good as my peers?" I get that some people don't like brash people, and that's fine if you are one of those people, but I'm not going to fault him for doing the opposite of 99% of his peers trying to go the harder route into the NBA hoping it would make him a better player or for intentionally putting that target on himself trying to push himself to be better. I don't doubt that's the reason WHY he choose the G-league over College - and he's not wrong about the quality of players in the G league(everyone there was their' college team's star) but the reality is, he got about a month of run in against that quality in the G League because of the pandemic and those foundational aspects require reps which he DIDN'T get. I'm not saying you gotta like him but if you are truly taking emotion out of it - you gotta at least acknowledge my point that he deserves a little more time before we call him a bust like you were suggesting....otherwise you may not be a "fanboy" but you are just the opposite - a "hater" which is really just the same emotional fan with a different opinion.

I'm not a Green fanboy for what it's worth, but I'm willing to admit he still has plenty of time to grow into a future all star just like many of today's present day all stars who started out their rookie season roughly and didn't have the pandemic related woes to deal with.

I laid out 3 relatively good scenarios of which neither proclaimed him a bust lmao.

I am also not a Green boi either and I am certainly not on his payroll.

Simple as that, I have no filter, and I certainly won't feel bad for him. Tough love like from the old John Lucas.

We are just all different posters with different views and posting styles.

I can respect what you want for him in the future.

Never a Harden fanboy as well and it was pretty easy to hop on that bandwagon.......Swag champs.

Heh. Maybe I should've just started a thread "Who is a worse defender between KPJ, Green and Sengun?"

Hamstring strains can take days to months to fully heal. That's the nature of soft tissue damage.

I'm beginning to think you may be on to something!

As soon as they started winning they shut down Wood and Porter and Green has been out too long for the injuries they sustained.

This is just mental gymnastics, no matter how you want to lie to yourself, Mobley is the better player.

Mobley mentality and skill is obviously good enough to lead ROY and be key contributor to a top 5 team in the East.

A Cavs team that was at the BOTTOM of the East last season.

The only other offseason additions were Markkanen and Rubio. And only Markkanen is a starter. And both are journeyman who were not critical to a winning team in past.

Green would not have started with Cavs.

    Cavs identity is DEFENSE.

And Green would not have beaten out Sexton, Garland or Okoro for starters minutes at guard/wing.

We as Rockets fans want Green to be THAT can't miss player, but let's not skew reality just to lie to oursleves.

Green was not going to be a system fit with all the teams that drafted in top 5. If Rockets had not chosen him 2nd, not sure if Cavs would have taken him with 3rd.

If I was the Cavs, I'd have taken Scottie Barnes to complement Sexton AND Garland alongside JA and Markkanen.

Most of the successful organizations send their injured and young players to G League first to ease them into NBA type competition.

I guarantee that Rockets will not send Green for a single minute with Vipers.

    I disagree.

Mobley's defense can be transcendent for a 7 footer. He is already the most switchable big in NBA, as a rookie. And his ability to play sticky iso defense WITHOUT fouling or committing turnovers is absolutely special.

And Mobley is still improving, just like Green and Sengun.

If Sengun and Green can improve, why not Mobley?

And I completely disagree with assumption that Mobley pick would have eliminated Sengun from consideration.

Rockets picked TWO bigs in the last draft - Sengun AND Garuba.

There is zero reason to believe Stone would not have drafted BPA if Mobley was picked instead of Green.

And even IF Sengun was not the pick (which I doubt since Rockets specifically moved up to take him) then there would still have been some great players available at 16.

Jalen Johnson would have been a great pickup.

Imagine fielding Mobley-JJohnson-Wood in backcourt with Porter and Gordon/Mathews/Tate frontcourt. That is extremely LONG fast and explosive starting 5 with lockdown switchable defense AND 3ball threat.

In either case, Mobley best skill is versatility to play with almost any conceivable lineup.

This video actually is one of the primary reasons i liked him, and the commentary i read on CF. However, it is possible he was very well coached in what to say here and maybe even saw the video ahead of time and rehearsed, because something like this will be seen by scouts. Players can be very productive without being a leader. We will need to find that leader at some point, and i dont think he is on the team currently.
