So UT was having trouble getting 4 star linemen before this fund? Its crazy that the narrative now seems to be UT troubles are fron a lack of top recruits.
Moving those goalposts. Apparently the pancake fund had an impact after looking at the OL recruits in this class.
There is a stark contrast between the number and ranking of the OL group we just signed vs years past. How much of that is due to NLI? We won't really know but have to assume it helped. Posted earlier that this is probably the best OL group signed out of any school this year and certainly the best class UT has signed in a long long time.
what sort of asinine question is this? i know there's no honor amongst thieves but at what point do folks realize the guy is human garbage? have some pride.
What do you think the goalpost are? IT has never had an issue getting these type of recruits with or without the pancake fund and A&M got a 4star over UT without having that fund. Like I have said from the beggining UT had never had a re recruiting issue and this fund does not give an advantage over any other perrenial top 10 program. I don't understand why this irks you so.
I don't disagree with any of this really but what metrics are you using to say thid is the best OL class of any school? A&M just got 3 4 stars this year and have a pretty young line already. My point is that this does not separate UT from any other top 10 program and UT has had this type of class befote and you still lost to Kansas this year. Recruiting has not been the problem and its comical that any UT fan is claiming otherwise.
That wasn’t sarcasm but if it was my bad. But let’s not act like there aren’t more than a handful of Texas Exes (and boosters) asking that exact question.
I'm not irked at all. I just disgree with you. When is the last time UT had a haul of this many OL/DL in the recruiting process. Yes they've had good recruiting classes before. But it's been a long time since they've had this kind of in the trenches haul. About time
Same metric all the sites use to determine who is a four or five star recruit, player rankings and ultimately class rankings…points. As someone who follows UT almost religiously, I don’t know of anyone that solely blames recruiting for our problems. I can’t recall anyone in this thread doing so either. But if we want to get back into national relevancy, we can’t keep losing top talent to Bama, OSU, etc…like we’ve done the past decade or so.
