So I guess Jokic and Embiid suck now? Never mind that they’re the only stars on their team right now.
I guess Gobert, Ayton, Bam, Allen, Vucevic shouldn’t play because centers aren’t needed anymore. All top 6 seeds currently.

    He's tall

Jeremy Lin was pushed for MVP and All Star appearances.....but we know that was
    an overseas push from fans.

    From the same article:

“Come on, mother****er,” Sengun joked to lead assistant John Lucas, who stood on the floor shaking his head and laughing. Their relationship is almost like father and son these days, Lucas the affable, stern type and Sengun the playful antagonizer."

But yeah, let's keep projecting and writing fan fiction about these guys lol.

I edited my last post but I'll say it here too. I think it doesn't have to do with race but the smart/hard working players that alot of posters like and think they can relate to in a weird way. I way in which it's harder for them to see themselves in ultra athletes. We've seen it with guys like Chuck Hayes and Landry as well. I think it has more to do w that than race tbh

The guy is just push him but Coach knows he is a talent. He needs to start and get at least 25 minutes a game or more….

Nice Analysis, I'm sure Jokic's team being 8th seed has to with $60 MM of their salary sitting out injured

Embiid being 7th seed has nothing to do with their other all star player refusing to play all season, and Embiid himself sitting out half of the season due to Covid

Have no idea why my response to Apachewarrior was attached to his post instead of a separate post. Weird.

Covered this at the end of last season.

League has gotten smaller which equals faster.....allowed Embiid/Jokic
to dominate. Be top MVP candidates. Both exited the playoffs
kinda fast as teams have gone even smaller in the playoffs.

I can be fools gold when you look at their.numbers.
Doesn't always result in team wins as the league is now guard
    oriented.

To answer your question, no they don't suck....but what do Ayton, Gobert, Allen
others have in common vs Jokic/Embiid. Not the focal points of an offense.
Ayton shoots .03 three point attempts per game.
Jarrett Allen .02 3's per game.

What they have in common is traditional big men playing big minutes on high seeded teams.
And shooting the 3 isn’t predicated on being small.

Also, Vucevic does shoot the 3. So does Lopez when he’s back, and most of the bigs in Milwaukee.

    Ok, I can respect that.

Although most people posting here aren't 6'10"
and acting like they would give their first born
away to get near Parsons, Asik (in the 1st 20 games or so as a Rocket), D-Mo, and now Sengun.

Sure let's go with that. People can think im a racist
but I have advocated for Harden, Jalen Green,
Silas, Brooks, Mathews, Theis, Porter, KMjr, Calvin
Murphy, Olajawon, Drexler, Elie, Bullard, and scores of Rockets past and present. Think what you may I find it repulsive for others to call Lucas
a racist. Interpretation is in the eye of the
    beholder.

Man, John Lucas is as Old School gets. This man has seen A LOT of basketball so I'm not in the least surprised by his comment. I think this is good for our young players.

I dont think you're racist and obviously I know the posters on here aren't 6'10". That's why I said weirdly relatable. I do think that there is a something that certain people relate to with the everyman type athletes. There's a certain allure to guys that have to outwork/outsmart other players. An allure that leads ppl to vastly overrate guys like that (Asik, D-Mo, Landry, etc.) That being said I think Sengun has been great as a 19yr old and think he has an extremely bright future but there are folks that are overrating him at this point. I mean I saw him get compared to a Yao, Jokic, Scola hybrid. We are setting ourselves up for disappointment with the lofty comps. Same with tge Kobe = Green comps. People need to let this stuff play out.

Also, since Lucas is literally one of Sengun's coaches, they're a lot closer (physically and relationship-wise) 24/7 than any of us CFers are around Sengun.

Lucas has been involved in basketball as a player and a coach(played collegiate basketball 50 years ago) more than many of us have been alive. It's pretty fair to say he knows what he's doing, both as a coach and a developer of players.

So for CFers to be up in arms even though we're all on the outside looking in, is really sad. We're not the parents of Sengun nor his keeper - no need to get upset at something that's not even close to inflammatory.

Here we go with the coaches are never wrong because they are there and we arent bullshit. Some of you give off clear minion vibes. The followers of life "they are in charge so they must know what they are doing". The proof is in the pudding and they play Daniel Theis above Sengun wake the **** up.

Yeah, they're in charge because they're assumed to know what they're doing. You at least operate under that assumption when you're hiring people. If, in fact, it turns out that the person was a bad hire, then you operate under the assumption that they'll be fired.

Example? Even though he had no HC experience, Silas was hired to be HC because of how good the Mavericks looked and had glowing recommendations. It wasn't like Tilman picked names out of a hat and Silas got lucky.

Earliest entry on wikipedia for Lucas' coaching career starts in 1992, and he's been involved with coaching at a high level since. You don't accidentally have a 29-year coaching career...you usually know what you're doing, if you've been involved that long. Has Lucas been bamboozling all the people that hired him, since then? I highly doubt it.

I'm sorry you're mad that Lucas didn't proclaim Sengun to be the savior of the Houston Rockets basketball after getting a double-double. By the way, what did Lucas say, that was factually incorrect? Does Sengun not have a long way to go before he reaches his best self? Is he already there? Is this his best version? Why would you give a rookie his flowers after a game in the regular season?

Since some CFers are so inclined to think that they're in the inner circle so that they can make assumptions, I can do the same thing. I bet if you candidly ask Sengun what he thinks about Lucas' answer, he'll tell you the same thing, in that "I have to improve a lot of things about my game."

I'm not sure why you're so easily triggered by a non-issue.

Knows what side his bread is buttered

"Yea! HE is the greatest but the coach is too shitty to acknowledge it!!" - John
"Can you step into my office for a moment." - Coach Silas
