Well I for one am thinking that Sengun might force the Rockets into refocusing the rebuild, through Sengun; even with Green and KPJ on the team. Sengun has the talent to go along with the heart of a lion. I think Green needing to focus on scoring works for him. But Sengun will be the MVP of the team….
Turkish: "bir iradenin olduğu yerde, bir yol vardır" English: "Where there's a will, there's a way." I love translations, and they probably make Alperen hehpeh too. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Spoiler
Although he does not see the value he deserves in the organization, he is in the place he deserves in reality.
I think Green and KPJ would benefit from playing off of Sengun. Both of them are really shooting guards.
Lucas deserves props. This is a good quote from the Athletic article @J.R. posted earlier: The purpose of Lucas’ shooting circuit is to get Sengun to the point where he won’t hesitate to let it fly if he’s left alone at the top of the key. He’s shooting 31.3 percent on just 1.2 attempts per game. The elite big men are comfortable stepping out and hitting those shots. Remember, he’s only 19. “If you notice, he’s almost like a point guard for us,” Lucas said. “I just have to keep finding ways to challenge him to get better. … The rest of the league knows what he is. We’ve gotta keep growing his game, because it doesn’t take long for this league to figure you out.” https://theathletic.com/3019404/202...ckly-hes-someone-that-the-game-comes-easy-to/
19th in the entire NBA in his first 30 games or so. Wow. From the Athletic article: I think we are still underestimating this kid. He's nowhere near an NBA body, barely speaks English and is in his first 30 NBA games as a 19 year old. He's looking like he's going to be max-worthy down the road. He needs to hit the gym as much as he needs to gain experience at the moment. Maybe that's why they're limiting his minutes.
If Sengun develops a midrange like Duncan or Aldridge, he would be a monster. He doesn't even have to be that great from mid range but if he can add that to his game, he won't have to bang down low so much. I know he's 19 but he is banging his body around the rim a ton.
perhaps it would be a great idea when he becomes the sole focus on offense and starts getting a plenty of playing time, say 35+ minutes... but in this situation when hes averaging 15 minutes per game, has trouble getting the ball, having to fight for it with danuel house and david nwaba, has trouble getting into any kind of rhythm, sengun shooting 3 pointers is detrimental to him and the team...RHYTHM IS EVERYTHING... he doesnt need to shoot it and emulate other big man... hes elite let the average big man emulate him..if they sag off of him, he has great handles to quickly get into the lane and start spinning into moves or try his floater....
if i understand it well hes 19th in frequency or number of postups per game and he's NUMERO UNO IN EFFICIENCY of the postups in the entire NBA
