Might be able to flip Adams but mostly helping clear out the books. A Wood trade should be the one the comes back with picks. I don't see us getting a FRP (w/o getting back an ornery contract) or getting Reddish. I'd rather not take back contracts, unless it's expiring or 1 year.
Replace Tobias with Danny Green. Keep Gordo. Team works better. Porter EGo Mathews Simmons Wood Bench: Sengun JGreen DGreen Tate Jaygup KJ Armoni
Wall + Theis + House for Kyrie + Harris Kyrie will opt out (because Kyrie thinks he's a basketball savant) unlike Wall so we get off that huge contract. We move on from House and Theis who we both bad fits on this team and get a floor spacer in Harris. We also open up a roster spot to sign Garry Bird. Nets are rumored to be trying to move on from Harris so Cam Thomas can get more minutes and they need a vet big. LMA can't be playing so many minutes at his age. Theis is a solid big for them especially with Harden facilitating. We all witnessed how good House can be playing next to Harden. Nets actually get a player who wants to play in Wall (who also wanted to play next to Harden). They're in win now mode and Kyrie refuses to play any games as long as he has to get vaccinated. Nets don't have a lot of freedom in terms of trades and signing FAs. This could be a big deal for them if they strike out on Pacers trade (likely since Pacers want picks and Nets have none).
Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: -13.1 ppg, -1.1 rpg, and -1.1 apg. Incoming Players Domantas Sabonis 25 year old, 6-11, 240 lb PF from Gonzaga 18.5 ppg, 11.9 rpg, 4.1 apg in 34.2 minutes in 2021-2022 T.J. Warren 28 year old, 6-8, 215 lb F from NC State No games yet played in 2021-2022 Outgoing Players Eric Gordon 32 year old, 6-3, 215 lb G from Indiana 15.1 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.9 apg in 29.9 minutes in 2021-2022 Christian Wood 26 year old, 6-10, 223 lb PF from UNLV 16.5 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.3 apg in 31.8 minutes in 2021-2022
Portland is the most desperate team in the NBA right now and we’re the exact opposite of that. Their 2024 even top 3 protected would be a sick pick.
Sabonis is a solid player to add to the core if we can get it done for Wood, which is a fair swap. Sabonis is a good elder statesman for the group and is on a great contract. Could be a good frontcourt partner with Sengun, and these can potentially be our 2nd and 3rd best players on a championship contender on very team-friendly contracts. If they would want more than Wood, I would still do it without including our rookies or any picks. I don't know, not a bad gamble. He's a borderline star, seems to do everything well. How's his perimeter defense I wonder.
EDIT: if they would want more than Wood, I would still do it without including our rookies or any picks.
If we are talking PJ Washington here - think about his potential combination with Sengun. He's officially 6'8 with a 7'3 wingspan and 8'11 reach (better than average length at the 4 spot). Super bouncy, good shot blocking instincts, and sticks the 3. 38.7% on his career, and has improved every season (43.2% this year). think KJ Martin with a 40% 3 point shot... If we have players who can create their own shot and for others, then we need some people who can finish. If we're not talking PJ Washington here, then um, excuse me! (Obviously he is a player I would love to see in H-town)
I think he can play next to those guys too - can provide space where required, rim protection and muscle for that list as well.
More of the same… the $ is so close in this one Wood, House, & Porter …for… Oubre, Bouknight, Jones & FRP (highly protected) This move put them so close with a score anywhere big, 6th man, & 2 way player that has playoff experience. It bringing freedom to Sengun, brings in a hard-nosed wing that can score, hedges the Green pick even more, cost control back up big gives Garuba someone to grow with & a pick Makes Gordon and/or Green even move obsolete.
Would Charlotte do this? https://fanspo.com/nba/s/rockets/trades/By0QTASuyTGwwS/charlotte-makes-a-push-this-year
Wonder if we're going to get wrapped into a multi-team deal that moves Simmons. I don't think we get Simmons, but we probably get a few underperforming young players and possible pick.
How about John Wall for Russell Westbrook? Lmao https://www.google.com/amp/s/heavy....lakers/russell-westbrook-john-wall-trade/amp/
I'm not sure Charlotte trades Bouknight so soon. I will say, though, if we are going to trade Wood, Charlotte makes a ton of sense. They have a lot of great pieces of their biggest need is a stretch center. I also think a guy like PJ Washington would fit well next to Sengun.
Only if Westbrrok accepts a buyout. Getting Westbrook essentially raises our floor, takes away from our younger development, and turns a potential top 5 pick to a 12-18
