Can someone remind me - did we draft terribly or traded all our picks away? Or why do I only remember Luther Head as the only promising rookie/young player from that era pre-Morey....

 

I can't say for sure, but i think we traded picks in the T-Mac trade which also brought in a Juwan Howard contract that we couldn't get rid of and then contracts on vets and even older vets filling out the roster, didn't we just draft and stash guys who never came to the NBA? I do remember the season T-Mac and Yao were both hurt-year 2? We had that lotto pick and we traded it (Rudy Gay), we used it to get out of Stromile's contract and we got Battier in return who was a major part of those teams, so?

For all those who complain about Morey's drafting, remember that it could be much worse, especially since a good chunk of those were top 10 picks, while Morey never picked lower than 11.
