Fox is someone I mentioned elsewhere as a player I would be willing to give up Green for. He's young and signed long-term. It's a move that would advance our rebuild by at least two years. We would still have a good pick this year to add another big piece.

Interesting. Fox is someone I envisioned KPJ becoming if his path is gone right.

But of course he is much better than KPJ.

Wiseman is not even a one-way talent. He has bust written all over him.

Short term it does not make sense at all. First we already have Theis as the backup center, unless you want to get rid of him also. Second, assuming Wiseman has good enough flashes to worth the trade, you will have the same minutes problem with Sengun here like Wood is. If Wiseman is not good enough to threaten Sengun's minutes, why do we want him in the first place? And if he doesn't develop into something good enough at the end of his rookie contract, his worth will be very low. In other words, if Wiseman goes the path of Wood in development, he will likely end up playing for another team after his rookie contract and we will get little to nothing back.

Bottomline, I am skeptical to the idea that you get 10 young players and watch them develop at the same time. It slows down the process and possibly stunts the growth of some guys. But it might work. What do I know.

Nonsense. This board when nuts when we selected Sengun. There was a massive thread about him pre-draft. Get over yourself.

What do folks want from a Wood trade?

    • More picks?
      • (in which case, do we know we want to play over the current guys)
      • picks are trade currency.
    • A player of different position?
    • Player(s) with a shorter contract?
      • Players at ends up being cheaper? (is this realistic; since he's already on a bargain). Only thing is avoid a future overpay.
    • A young player that can develop into Wood's skills, but still raw. So he fits a timeline? o_O
    • An aging franchise player (who can immediately make the team better), but doesn't fit timeline. (Dame ....etc) <<- Guessing NO for most CFers. And guys like Dame wouldn't want that.
    • A young stud that can be a franchise player? (is this realistic, would such a team give up their guy for Wood. Is there another OKC 6th man Harden out there, so lightening can strike twice?).

    • Do nothing, and keep Wood?...:p
      • Extend him and then have the option to trade for a good player with similar larger contract.

That shows me you weren't paying attention. He didn't want Sengun even with our lowest picks at 23/24. HATED.

Lol, it happens, I was totally wrong on Mobley.

But I was right that Green wasn't ready though as well. Time to move on from it.

Euro players rarely bust out, most are just role players.

I can see why Clutch thought Sengün was only a role player, you have to watch the Turkish league intensively to know his game.

Oh I'm not blaming Clutch at all. But if the prior poster was going to call me out for Marcus Morris for the thousandth time, real original, then give me some credit for being early on Sengun too.

If we went after Fox, one of Green or KPG would need to be in the offer.
There’s just not enough room for that many ball dominant players

I support this... I would not do Wood & Green for Fox... but Wall & Green + protected FRP for Fox & Hield? I would hesitate... but would still take that chance

I apologize for it too, yeah, guilty as charged as well throughout CF history. Had some fun with it.

Marcus Morris is actually a good player but not a star.

I never considered Paul Pierce as a superstar as well.

So a potential 12 pt and 7 player is a bust?

Because he already had those numbers down before injury hit him.

His playing style does not fit the modern game as much as Kerr would have liked.

Trading Wood is the option if he and Segun can’t play well together, because they are both centers. It’s that simple. If they can play together we don’t need to trade Wood (although he will not be worth the max). If they can’t play together we need another big that can play well with Sengun as the center. A PF with length and an outside shot (Banchero?) I don’t think there is a trade out there for a PF that will work, unless Miles Turner can play PF. So you take picks and expirings. Hopefully, with the extra picks and our own we can move up to a position in the draft to find the answer. I don’t think we need another 3-4 rookies added, but one special one.

Lol no need to apologize. I'm just venting because I made one thread on Morris and get flack for it literally 10 years later meanwhile I wrote 100 posts on Sengun before the draft.

No idea but I think we would have needed Mook during the Harden run.

Mook played well for the Celts and Clippers.

I always respected Marcus for his 36-38% shooting.

You are probably not the only and first one that hopped on Sengün, it is natural.

I cannot be bothered about that, I mean you can earn your stripes somewhere else and with humor.

Some stats are deceiving. I am a Memphis fan and watched as much of Wiseman as possible. I wasn’t impressed with him in College or his short stint in GS. Wiseman for Wood would be a horrible deal for Houston. We can get much better elsewhere.
