The only team that's competing that could use Wood's services with young talent to give up is the Warriors, but they think that Wiseman and Kuminga are good enough to contribue to winning right now.

That would be incredible, but I doubt if the Rockets can pull it off. GS is tough to deal with imo.

Wiseman for Wood straight up is a win for the Rockets.

Yeah and as mentioned 1 post earlier by Tuck, we would needs Dubs reunion with Klay to cause them chemistry issues or something else so they start losing and hit panic button at the deadline

If I'm a GS fan on the other end, I would NEVER trade any 2 of Wiseman, Moody, Kuminga for CWood + EGo sitting atop the West with Klay about to add star-caliber talent to the lineup for free

CHI has clearly gone all-in on WIN NOW adding Vuc, Ball, DeRozan around Lavine
I think that core is fool's gold and they will hit reset on yet another rebuild in a year or two
They've collected a bunch of Robins without ever getting Batman

Warriors are way too smart to bet on fool's gold

Only way they make a similar all-in move for short term like Wood+EGo is if some unfortunate circumstances force a panic move to help out Steph avoid 3rd straight season without a shot at a ring

Currently, they are in the cat bird's seat and can afford to wait for the youth to develop bc they don't need any of them to win it all

We trade Wood to free up the center logjam. Why would we want to get another young center back who also needs minutes to develop?

And was a negative last season, with very little ability to guard out at the perimeter. That weakness will be worse coming off major surgery.

Well short-term somebody above 6'7" would need to backup Sengun's foul-prone issues

Longterm he's a cheap, young, talented asset with many of the same exact talents it took Wood half a decade to develop

    Just like Kuminga and Moody

If we can flip Wood and EGo into any 2 of those 3, plus another FFRP, I'll take it and worry about the fit in a year or 2 when big $$$ decisions must be made about roster construction

For now, I'm trying to build a 10-man Rockets roster that is 2 deep at all 5 positions with young, cheap, athletic, 2way talent

Then let them all scrap and claw their way into the 8-man playoff rotation of an ascending young juggernaut ... Darwin style

Wiseman is a horrible bust at #2 pick who will feel entitled to minutes and a starring role. We already have one of those on the roster, we don't need two, especially not one playing the same position as Sengun, an actual franchise player we should be freeing up minutes for.

Lakers are looking for a floor spacing big that is long and can shoot 3’s… it’s not a perfect fit, but Wood is about as good as they can possibly get. THT is about the only contract that they can move because most the others are on the minimum… I wouldn’t give Wood away, but if the Rockets can get value they would be wise to do it…. Especially if they like Sengun as much as the fans do.

It is too bad because Wood/Covington/Harden/Westbrook would have been special.

They would likely move Wiseman for a player they like but they know they are selling low. The Warriors typically don’t make big deals at the deadline so it will be interesting to see what they do.

I find it funny that when Wiseman was entering the draft and then was picked by the Warriors the media and league felt Wiseman was this super special prospect with unlimited upside. Now two years later these same people are claiming he never was that good.

Has he been making noise behind the scenes for the Warriors the past couple of years ...?

Cuz he definitely hasn't been handed a 'starring role' there ... ever

    Genuinely asking
I know nothing about Wiseman personally but you seem like you do ..?

All I ever remember hearing about him negative was the stuff on him basically bailing on Memphis to prep for the draft

He was literally handed the starting role just like Green, was so bad that he played his way to the bench before getting hurt.

But that's not what you posted...

The post above is wondering why he would feel "entitled"?

I haven't seen that attitude from Wiseman, or Jalen Green for that matter.

Jalen Green seems to be a good kid that works his butt off, from all accounts and interviews.

Couldn't that also be because, like Green on these 2021 Rockets:

    - #2 overall picks almost always start from day one, since teams typically only draft players that high they believe to be future superstars

    - he was drafted onto a team playing out a lost season, as the injuries/departures of 3 future HoFamers left that Warriors team in the same spot as this Rockets team ... devoting an entire regular season to developing young talent

    - or maybe it was simply that, like our Rockets with Green at SG, the Warriors simply determined that Wiseman was the best C on their roster, rookie or not ..?

Any of those 3 explanations seem more plausible to me than Wiseman complaining his way into a starting role his own team felt he did not deserve

He averaged 11/6 as a rookie in the year of the 'rona (no training camp and was thrown into a team whose biggest use for a 5 has been to set screens and catch lobs), and he's been injured this year.

I don't see him fitting on this team as much as the next guy, but calling him a horrible bust is just flat out wrong and far too soon.

I was never a fan of Wiseman.

But CF to this day still pines for him in trades.

    It's crazy.
